"I was born in the southeast of Haiti, the eldest of a small family that only included my mother and my sister. We were raised in Port-au-Prince, and from early on my childhood was marked by frequent hospital visits due to my severe asthma. What stayed with me the most of my numerous visits to the emergency services was the empathy and kindness of the medical staff. Their compassion inspired me from a young age to become a doctor so that I could one day provide the same care and hope to others."
We invite you to read this powerful article, authored by CAR Haiti member Marie Alexandra Michel and published in The New Humanitarian, about the realities impacting health care workers in Haiti.

This Easter, a time many consider for reflection and community celebration, we invite you to stand in solidarity with the Haitian community.
Right now, the Haitian community is facing an unprecedented crisis marked by escalating violence within Haiti and the weaponization of immigration policies that unjustly target Haitians in the U.S. Many of our partners, colleagues, and friends at EqualHealth are among those affected by these dire circumstances.
We are asking everyone in our community to:
1. Donate any amount to our mutual aid fundraiser.
2. Share a post on social media (Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter).
