Wisconsin schools, teachers file lawsuit against GOP-led Legislature seeking more funding 02/24/2026

Every child in Wisconsin deserves a joyful, well-rounded education in safe, supportive classrooms. But decades of underfunding have stretched many public schools thin, leading to larger class sizes, crumbling school infrastructure, and fewer opportunities for our students.

It’s time to fulfill our commitment to our children and fund Wisconsin public schools. Educators, parents, and students from across WI are supporting a landmark lawsuit to demand better from the Wisconsin legislature and fully fund public schools, and we’re proud to be the lead plaintiff in this important lawsuit. No matter where we live or what our politics are, we all want kids to be safe, supported, and prepared for their futures – and this lawsuit is a critical step toward fulfilling that commitment. More updates to come.

Wisconsin schools, teachers file lawsuit against GOP-led Legislature seeking more funding A coalition of Wisconsin school districts, teachers’ unions, advocacy groups, parents, students and others has filed a lawsuit against the state Legislature alleging that it’s failing to fund public schools adequately.
