I happened upon a site I flew about a year ago for a powerline expansion project. At that time, the landscape was forested, rolling & purely unimproved. To see it now gave me a sense of pride & accomplishment that my company was part of the design & implementation of something that benefits thousands in that region. This puts the hard work into perspective & makes me proud to be part of this industry.

I often get asked by clients that are accustomed to manned aerial LiDAR if they should wait for leaf-off conditions for project acquisition. All other factors aside; if you're concerned about data coverage under vegetation/canopy, >500 pts/m2 drone LiDAR can handle it. This example shows full leaf-on conditions & thick vegetation yet the underside view of the same area reveals the hidden ground features...with virtually no data voids. Bring it on!
