Specializing in the art of Brazilian waxing

Photos 10/08/2020

The first time is always nerve wracking! But there are things you can do to feel the best prepared that you can be!
1. GROW THAT HAIR, HONEY! I often hear the misconception, “I don’t want it to be more painful if it’s too long!” Imma letchu in on a lil secret: it’s WAY more painful if the hair is too short! In fact, there’s never such a thing as “too long”, but there certainly is such a thing as too short, and if the hair is not grown for that full two weeks before your first brazilian, I’m going to encourage you to reschedule and continue growing it, because it is so not worth waxing hair that’s too short. It’s way more painful, you don’t get good results, and you still gotta pony up the money for it.
2. Ibuprofen helps reduces swelling, inflammation and pain. Boom.
3. Caffeine and alcohol increase inflammation.
4. Finding a reputable place, whether it’s based on good reviews or from a personal referral, will better the odds of things going smoothly. Listen, we all gotta start somewhere and I get the new kids on the block need experience to gain that reputation too, but I would take the time to find someone that’s been doing this for longer than a couple days, and has tons of experience. By the way, I’m Emily, a Brazilian specialist 👋 Pick me!

If these walls could talk... 😂

But really, this is a safe place. You can come in having the best day ever or the worst day ever, and I will either listen and celebrate with you, or listen and bitch with you! 😂 My favorite thing about my job are the conversations I get to have with clients. You all are such beautiful & authentic women, and the best chats happen as a result of that! I vow to never judge, to never be reckless with the things you confide in me with, and to do my best to remember your partners’ names, your dogs’ names and where you went on vacation 🤣 I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, it’s not just about the wax in here. It’s about women supporting women, it’s about feeling like you’re catching up with a friend, it’s about self-care, it can be a feeling of empowerment and a boost in confidence! But also, it can be about having thought-provoking, eye-opening, amazing conversation. Thank you for that!! 😘 xoxo

I’m so glad you asked! The answer is ABSOLUTELY! In my experience, women that were in a waxing routine prior to pregnancy choose to continue waxing throughout their pregnancy. If you think about it, it makes perfect sense: shaving takes so much effort. Energy is low during pregnancy. It’s so much easier to leave it to a professional. Also, angles are tricky enough when shaving without a baby belly in the way. Add that bump to the mix and you could be setting yourself up for a disaster. With all that said, waxing during pregnancy can cause more sensitivity, so I wouldn’t suggest getting your first brazilian wax during pregnancy. As always, drop questions below or feel free to DM me if privacy is more your style 😉

Wax on, wax off! Left leg is before wax, right is after. This client comes every 6 weeks and has waxed consistently for 3 years. Her hair growth has thinned out tremendously since she started her waxing journey!
