Starting in 2010, the Indiana National Guard allowed me to create Radio Muscatatuck, a low-power FM radio station at Muscatatuck Urban Training Center. Our mission was to help fill out the real-world environment we had created at MUTC. Through live news, communication, exercise messaging and assistance, and entertainment programming, we represented a real-world media environment... often with a bad Russian or German accent.

In 2011, we began a secondary mission: training the Army’s Broadcasters and Broadcast Technicians, especially in the Army Reserve. During Exercise News Day and Guardian Response, thousands of Public Affairs professionals (or DINFOS trained killers) took to the Radio Muscatatuck airwaves to run their own shows and get real, hands-on training.
