Desperate

This is me.

I recently watched an old episode of the TV show Bones. It ended with an innocent life being destroyed, Ripley, due to bad owners, not bad dogs. I couldn't find a clip of it anywhere, so I found a still shot from the episode and wrote out what Bones said at the end. It made me cry.

"On behalf of human kind, the Universe, I would like to apologize for what happened to Ripley. He was born a cute little puppy, and then the people who adopted him wanted to kill him because they were too stupid to realize that, he would grow into a big dog.

Ripley was a good dog. He didn’t want to fight, but he did it to please his master. He didn’t want to attack a human being, but he did it to please his master. It wasn’t Ripley’s fault that his master was cruel and selfish.

Like all dogs, Ripley only saw the good in people. Dogs are like that. People should take a lesson."

Seriously people. Before you shop. ADOPT!! A pet is for life. Not when you feel like it. And you don't trade them in like a used vehicle either. No matter how old they are, how sick they are, how bonkers they are, if there is a new baby in the house, no matter what, they are your family. Treat them like that. Unconditional love is what they give you. If you abuse them, neglect them, or think that owning a pet is not right for you. DON'T DO IT AGAIN. No more pets for you. Want to pet a dog or cat? Go to your local shelter. Foster. Rent a pet. Pet sit. But don't own a pet.
