Latest project doing a deck repair, changed all the cedar decking ,homeowner wanted to save railings I tried to talk them into new but they were adimant, there was a lot of rot on the posts so we changed those out ,gave them some new steps because those were totally rotted out originally it was supposed to be just decking and strengthen rails but I could not just do that I would feel uncomfortable with those old posts so I went above my scope and gave them something a little better ,next repair all rotted trim and repair a bunch of cedar siding.

We just opened up and installed new beam in a west Hartford home, the challenge here was when we opened wall there were steam pipes for old cast iron radiators we had to reroute, also there was an electrical box with live wires exposed so those had to be rerouted so we put in a new breaker and ran new wire to panel,we also had to lace in the hardwood floor wich was tough ,but all in all it came out nice ,homeowner was happy I guess that’s all that matters.

So not every job is big and that meaningful to me but to a homeowner in need it means a lot, these stairs were split at 4 treads so I went in and fixed the broken ones for the homeowner, and the shimmed the others as not to squeak ,added the trim because it wasn’t there at all ,as there was carpet at one point,I guess what I’m saying is not every project has to be big to make someone happy .this was a real concern for them so I took a bad situation and made it a little less bad for them.and I got what I wanted a smile at the end! That’s my goal to make the homeowner happy after the project is complete no matter the size!

A little addition over a garage I just did the homeowner wanted another bathroom and walk in closet off thier bedroom,so we gave them this to work with let’s just say it a big closet for sure,we moved thier bathroom back from front of bedroom to rear and opened it up so a different layout that’s more appealing.

A bonus room above garage I just framed up,first had to start with floor leveling, add half inch plywood everywhere ,lay down 2 by 4 sleepers then 3/4 toungue and groove over top throughout, then frame kneewalls and ceiling ,what made this tough is every bit of material had to come up through a window so it took a lot of effort to get that material up there ,but in the end it came out pretty sweet it’s a big space for any type of room now.

Flood damage in a day are,2inch of standing water throughout, cut out 2 foot all the way around resheetrock tape paint ,and put new rubber base ,this was a lot of work due to the fact the daycare was still in operation so a lot of precautions were taken for the kids.but we got it done!

This is what happens when someone continually tries to hide water damage,I went to just change a piece of Sheetrock and end up with this mess,it was for a relative who rents ,and the landlord didn’t care too much so I had to do something to get closed up by the end of the day.i was not happy about how he just shrugged it off.
