Having a wood fireplace was first on my list when thinking about what our new living room needed. I’ve been a lover of making fires for as long as i can remember. The ritual has always been so grounding for me.

No question about it— i wanted plaster!!
After lots of research, i landed on concretta plaster for its ease of use and its durability. I went with Canvas White for a slightly warmer white than what we have on the walls.

I opted last minute to ditch a tile hearth and have the plaster continue on and I’m SO PLEASED with it!! Simple. Timeless. Yet regal and earthy.

So proud of Ryan for taking my ideas and dreams and running with it ♥️♥️♥️ researching and building from the ground up makes this all the more special to me 🥹 i am obsessed with the finished product and can’t wait to put her to use this winter 🔥

Definitely first world problems— something helping me: Looking at one source of design inspo instead of all of it. Finding the things i like consistently and — keeping it simple at the end of the day with my picks.
Everything that’s more temporary than not… picking things that will feel more timeless, less trendy, and then we can play with paint and lighting fixtures.

Woof 🏡 can’t wait to make some decisions and be done suffering 🤣🪄

This little dining area has served us well over the last five years— and I’m so ready for more SPACE 🪄

While we are building on to our house, i find myself finding ways to stay steady and keep things fresh inside our home. Maybe it’s the way I feel i can contribute besides cleaning the job site 🤣😅 today, instead of steam cleaning these chairs again, I decided to simply reupholster them. Such an easy upgrade and gave me a reason to visit Joann’s one last time (rip and tbh I’m very sad, that place is a touchstone of my childhood!!).

Yes I’ll scotch guard don’t you worry.

I love the shape and look of the chairs so we will likely purchase more when our dining room expands (so soon!!) to pair with a new big mama table. I bought lots of fabric so we good.
