BrightonOne announces Connecticut expansion, expanding access and choice for thousands of military families and veterans across the state.

Yale New Haven Health, Connecticut’s largest healthcare system, brings nearly 7,900 medical professionals into the USFHP network. The system includes Bridgeport Hospital, Greenwich Hospital, Lawrence + Memorial Hospital, Westerly Hospital, and Yale New Haven Hospital, as well as Northeast Medical Group and several specialty networks. Yale New Haven Health is affiliated with Yale University and Yale Medicine, the clinical practice of the Yale School of Medicine and New England’s largest academic multispecialty practice.

Trinity Health of New England adds more than 1,100 providers across 95 integrated practice locations offering primary care and a broad range of medical and surgical specialties. Its regional network includes Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center and Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital in Hartford, Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford Springs, Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, and Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts.

This expansion of USFHP of Southern New England, administered by BrightonOne, means more access to high-quality civilian healthcare for TRICARE-eligible beneficiaries throughout Connecticut. The plan provides access to comprehensive TRICARE Prime benefits, personalized local support, and access to additional health and wellness benefits.

"You are not forgotten" are the four words on the POW/MIA flag, and for good reason. They represent a promise.

A promise to keep the faith, keep searching, and never forget. Those who answered our nation’s call have earned our commitment to stand with them. It is a reminder that our nation's obligation endures, to remember, to account for those still missing, and to stand beside the families who are still waiting for answers.

At BrightonOne, we recognize that our call to service does not end when the uniform comes off. Today, we remember those who have not come home and reaffirm our commitment to the Veterans, military families, and communities we are privileged to serve.

VRP will host CT DVA Stand Down 2026 this Friday, September 18, from 9AM–2PM.

Please note:
Friday: No regularly scheduled programming — Stand Down ONLY. The building will close at 2PM when the event concludes.
Thursday: Our team and partners will be setting up for Stand Down. PWR will still meet from 10–11AM in the Computer Lab for registered participants.

Twenty-five years. BrightonOne remembers.

On Sept. 11, 2001, our nation witnessed extraordinary courage: first responders running toward danger, ordinary citizens showing extraordinary courage, and strangers becoming community. We lost 2,977 lives that day, including more than 200 from Massachusetts.

Twenty-five years on, that spirit of service endures. Many raised their hand to serve their country in the years that followed, an entire generation whose lives are shaped by duty and sacrifice. They deserve to know we haven't forgotten.

At BrightonOne, we honor that commitment every day for our Veterans and their families. Because remembering isn't just about the past, it's about showing up today for those who showed up for us.

Today, we recognize the hard work, dedication, and contributions of workers across our communities.

We are especially thankful for the BrightonOne employees, partners, and organizations across our campus who bring our mission to life each day. Through their dedication, we are able to continue supporting Veterans and their families through Healthcare, Housing, and Hope.

To everyone whose work helps care for others, strengthen families, and build stronger communities: thank you for all that you do.

The numbers tell an important story, but behind every number is a Veteran whose experiences cannot be reduced to a statistic.

Mental health, substance use, housing stability and access to care are deeply connected. Addressing one need can often mean recognizing the others and making sure Veterans have somewhere to turn for continued support. That is why BrightonOne is committed to being a hub of resources for Veterans and their families.

From healthcare and housing to counseling services, weekly AA meetings, recovery resources and community support, our work is centered on caring for the whole person. These statistics remind us why that work matters and why connection to the right resources can be so important.

September is National Recovery Month, an opportunity to celebrate recovery, recognize the strength it takes to pursue it, and highlight the importance of communities that provide support along the way.

At BrightonOne, our commitment to Veterans and their families is rooted in caring for the full person. We know that well-being can extend beyond any single service. It can mean access to quality healthcare, a safe and stable place to call home, meaningful connection, and a community that provides hope.

As part of that commitment, BrightonOne provides space for weekly AA meetings on our campus, creating an accessible place for individuals to come together in fellowship and support.

Recovery looks different for everyone, but no one should have to navigate it without community. During National Recovery Month and throughout the year, BrightonOne remains committed to creating a place where healing, connection, and brighter tomorrows are possible.
