👑💖 Welcome to Kitty Co, Phoebe! 💖👑

The royal carriage has arrived, and Princess Phoebe has officially taken her throne as Kitty Co.’s newest office cat!

A couple of weeks ago, we reached out to Central PA Humane Society after following one of their long term resident's, Phoebe’s, journey and completely falling in love with her. We started discussing the possibility of welcoming her as our office cat and since then we’ve been working behind the scenes to make it happen!

Princess Phoebe has spent years at CPHS, patiently waiting for her happily ever after. Because she has a seizure disorder that requires medication twice daily and prefers to reign as the only feline in her kingdom, finding the perfect fit hasn't been easy.

However, today, we made the 2.5-hour journey to Altoona to bring this royal lady to KCCR to hopefully get new sets of eyes on her in hopes that we can find her the furever home she needs. Someone will be extremely lucky someday to call this sweet girl their own and we're hopeful that we can find that someone for her!

We’re happy to report that Her Royal Highness is settling into her new castle (our office) beautifully. She has already been exploring her kingdom, testing out the toys, and graciously distributing free cuddles. 💕

Phoebe has made it clear that she expects the royal treatment and honestly, we’re happy to oblige. After waiting so long for a place to call her own, she deserves every bit of love, comfort, and attention that comes with being our resident princess.

We are incredibly grateful to the team at Central Pennsylvania Humane Society for trusting us with this special girl. We know how deeply loved she was by their staff and volunteers, and we promise to continue spoiling her like the royalty she is!

Every princess deserves her castle, and we are honored to have Princess Phoebe in ours 🏰😻

🐾🚨 WE NEED YOUR HELP FOR TUNA, REEBOK, BELUGA & MONICA 🚨🐾

We are desperately searching for foster homes or adopters for four of our cats who majority are currently living in kennels because they simply do not do well around other cats.

Tuna, Reebok, Beluga, and Monica deserve so much more than spending their days in a kennel or being overlooked.

Here at KCCR, we only like to use kennels when cats need to be quarantined or are receiving medical care. A life spent in a 2x2x2 metal box is no life at all. These cats deserve room to stretch, play, relax in a sunny window, and receive the one-on-one attention they crave.

Monica has been lucky enough to serve as our office cat for a short while but today, that space is needed for a special needs resident moving in. That means Monica urgently needs a foster or forever home of her own.

The good news? You CAN foster these cats even if you have other pets!

While Tuna, Reebok, Beluga, and Monica do not get along with other cats or dogs, fostering is still possible as long as they have their own separate room where they can live comfortably and safely. A spare bedroom, office, finished basement, or similar space could truly change their lives.

If you’re interested in adopting, please understand that these cats would do best as the only pet in the home. They want to be the center of attention, the king or queen of the castle, and they are happiest when they don’t have to share their space with other animals.

We know there is someone out there for each of them.

Please help us get Tuna, Reebok, Beluga, and Monica out of rescue and into homes where they can finally relax and be loved the way they deserve.

We need someone willing to provide temporary coverage while these little claims adjusters grow big enough for spay/neuter and adoption (roughly 3-4 weeks from now)! They’re still a little shy and will need daily socialization to help them learn that people aren’t so scary. In particular, Flo would like everyone to know that she’s currently operating under a policy of “all hiss, no bite.” 😹😼 She puts on a tough-girl act, but she’s just a baby who’s still figuring things out.

Beluga is a beautiful 4-year-old girl with a sweet personality and a big love for people. She enjoys attention, affection, and spending time with her favorite humans. If you're looking for a loving companion, Beluga may be the perfect match! 🐱❤️

Beluga would do best as the only cat in the home, where she can enjoy all the love and attention for herself. She has so much affection to give and is ready to find a family that will adore her.

Beluga is one of the cats who came to us as part of the rescue effort involving 38 cats from Little Wren Rescue in Altoona, Pennsylvania. She is actually one of our 2 Panleuk survivors as well! After all she's been through, this gorgeous girl deserves a home of her very own.

Update on our Malcolm boy ❤️‍🩹

These videos may be difficult to watch.

Malcolm was discharged from MedVet yesterday because there was nothing they could do for him overnight that we couldn't do ourselves. It is assumed he has one of three things causing his neurological symptoms based off of his examination and bloodwork results - a severe ear infection, liver failure, or FIP.

He is now in a temporary foster home.

His pupils are darting back and forth, he has a severe head tilt, and he is not stable on his feet.

Our guts are telling us this is FIP based on his bloodwork and symptoms. We started the GS injections for FIP last night. Thankfully, his foster was able to actually get the full injection into him with no issues 🙌🏻

However, he is still very much so spicy when he is handled, despite being able to hold himself up or get around very well and our foster has to wear Kevlar gloves to protect herself.

If Malcolm improves on these injections and begins to perk up and eat on his own, we are hopeful we can switch him to the capsule version of the GS meds and just put it in his food or a treat.

Treating a semi feral cat for FIP is difficult, but not entirely impossible. However, we have to keep our foster safe while doing so.

Malcolm is currently having to be syringe fed and assisted with the litter box as he is extremely wobbly. Today, he was trying to do things on his own, but simply couldn't because of his condition.

Tonight marks Day 2 of FIP treatment. Let's see how this goes 💪🏻
