Details Regarding Wednesday’s Severe Weather
We train for Maydays on the fireground.
We should be just as willing to answer them off the fireground.
As our community recovers from last week’s storm, Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month is a reminder that not all damage is visible.
Check on your people.

Bridgeview was officially confirmed to have been directly impacted by an EF-2 tornado, placing our community in the heart of one of the most significant storm events in recent memory.
Over the past four days, our firefighters and paramedics have responded to an extraordinary number of emergency calls while working around the clock to assist residents affected by the severe weather.
Here are some of the remarkable numbers from the last four days:

From the Chief..
On June 11th at approximately 8:16 pm, a major severe weather event struck our village. Within minutes, multiple 9-1-1 calls began to flood our dispatch center. Over the next 6 hrs, the Bridgeview Fire Department responded to 41 documented emergency incidents ranging from wires down and fire alarms to building collapses and medical calls.
Your firefighters were faced with extreme weather, dangerous scenes and the lack of assistance from neighboring fire departments due to the extensive area affected and the high volume of emergencies occurring.
I am extremely proud of my firefighters as they performed tirelessly and professionally in situations where we would normally have 5 to 8 times the amount of personnel operating at these incidents. They safely completed all of their assignments without hesitation or injury.
Their dedication, discipline, and commitment to one another reflect the highest standards of our department and the community we serve. I am honored to work alongside such capable individuals, and I have full confidence that they will continue to meet every challenge with the same level of professionalism and resolve.
Yours Truly,
Keith Grzadziel
Fire Chief
