Our amazing St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School, Fairfield, CT 2nd graders put their hearts and hands to work, creating care packages for our beloved Diocese of Bridgeport seminarians - especially our own Daniel and Brendan! Each package is filled with prayers, encouragement, and little reminders of how much they are appreciated. This week, we’re highlighting the Called By Name campaign, an initiative to honor young men in our community who display faith, leadership, and a desire to serve, and invite them to explore the priesthood.

Ordination Rehearsal!

Congratulations to Bishop Keith Chylinski and Bishop Christopher Cooke, Rector and Dean of Theology at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, where many of our seminarians study!

As we begin National Vocations Awareness week, we are excited to share this year's Seminarian Poster!

We were thrilled to welcome seven new men as seminarians this year, who have begun their formation at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Wynnewood, PA, St. Joseph's Seminary (Dunwoodie) in Yonkers, NY, and Redemptoris Mater Seminary in Stamford, CT.

Please pray for our 2023-2024 seminarians and keep an eye out for our new poster at parishes and schools in the coming weeks! Whenever you see it, be sure to offer a prayer for our seminarians and for all men discerning a call to be Shepherds after the heart of Jesus Christ!

Ten years ago today, Bishop Caggiano was installed at St. Theresa Church in Trumbull as the Fifth Bishop of Bridgeport!

What a blessing he has been for our Diocese, especially our seminarians and all those discerning a call to give of their lives to Christ and His Church.

Thank you, Bishop, for all you have done for the Lord and His Church in the Diocese of Bridgeport! Ad multos annos!

It is a beautiful morning in Lisboa!

Our priests and seminarians got a great view of Pope Francis as he departed the Presidential Palace!

Then they hit the Vocations Fair, where they ran into some friends from the Apostles of the Sacred Heart and played some soccer (um football, as we were corrected multiple times) with new friends from Spain.

Fr. Ford even ran into an old student from St. Greg's who is now living her faith in college!

Congratulations to seminarians Dominick Angiolillo and Maximilian Lock, who were admitted to Candidacy by Bishop Caggiano this morning during our pilgrimage!

With this step, Dominick and Maximilian affirm their resolve to persevere in their formation to priesthood and the Bishop, on behalf of the Church, receives that resolve and affirms our continued commitment to supporting them in their vocation to the Priesthood.

Please pray for Dominick and Maximilian who will now begin the Configuration stage (theology studies) this fall.

Dominick will attend St. Joseph's Seminary (Dunwoodie) in Yonkers, NY and Maximilian will attend St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Wynnewood, PA.

Today, our group visited the medieval monastery at Battalha, followed by lunch in the coast town of Nazare before mass at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Nazare, site of a legendary and ancient miracle attributed to the intercession and intervention of Mary.

Today, after visiting the fields where the Angel of Peace appeared to the children, Bishop Caggiano and our priests celebrated the sanctuary's daily English mass, at which Fr. Ford was the homilist, in front of the very place where Our Blessed Mother appeared to Sts. Francisco and Jacinta and Ven. Lucia

Tonight, two of our seminarians and four of our young adults will have the privilege of carrying the statue of Our Lady in the nightly Rosary procession!
