The new Occupational Heat Safety Lab at the Korey Stringer Institute officially open at University of Connecticut — a facility designed to advance critical research around heat safety, performance, and human resilience.

Our team helped create an environment that supports cutting-edge research while reflecting the mission-driven work happening inside its walls. From controlled environmental testing capabilities to flexible research spaces, every design decision was centered on innovation, safety, and impact.

Congratulations to the teams at Korey Stringer Institute, MISSION, and Magid on this important milestone.

A recent field trip to our office gave ACE students the opportunity to experience the profession from a new perspective. The tour highlighted the building’s history as a dance hall and creative collaboration facilitated by the original dance floor’s conversion to our open studio space. The students then had the opportunity to work alongside our designers, experiencing firsthand how ideas develop through interactive teamwork.

A special thank you to Zachary for capturing the experience on video. We look forward to seeing the students present their final projects on May 21st.

It was a wonderful beam raising ceremony at Sherman Elementary attended by representatives from the Town, Board of Education, Building Committee. Administrators, teachers and students (from a safe distance), Construction and Design Teams to celebrate the progress of their renovated school.

This event reflects years of planning to deliver a fully renovated facility where the Sherman community can learn, grow, and thrive for years to come. Thanks to all members of the project team for their individual efforts that brought us to this project milestone; and a special thanks to the Sherman School staff and students for their patience and cooperation as the work is completed.

We were honored to have Michael LoSasso and David Ferris represent Antinozzi Associates as judges at this year’s Technology Student Association (TSA) competitions.

From detailed architectural portfolios and physical models to a fast-paced 2D CAD design challenge, students demonstrated impressive creativity, technical skill, and professionalism.

Programs like TSA, alongside DECA and Business Professionals of America, continue to inspire the next generation of designers. We’re excited to see their future take shape and play a small part.

As we celebrate 70 years of Antinozzi Associates in 2026, we’re looking back at the projects that shaped our firm.

Our story begins in the 1950s, when founder Dan Antinozzi designed Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia—a bold, circular structure that brought strength, light, and renewed spirit to a community rebuilding after the 1955 floods.

Thoughtful, collaborative, and purpose-driven from the start—stay tuned as we continue sharing our journey through the decades.

On March 19th we had the pleasure of hosting an event with NorvaNivel & WB Mason!

Over tacos and drinks, Hannah Tejeda led an engaging session on trauma-informed design for K–12 schools, sparking meaningful conversations and fresh perspectives.

After the presentation, we headed up to the loft for a hands-on activity and the opportunity to explore a variety of furniture options.

Thank you to everyone who joined us—we hope to see you at our next session!

Daylighting, paired with natural materials like wood, can help improve mood, increase focus, and boost energy levels. These elements also support healthy sleep cycles and reduce fatigue - helping students stay more alert and comfortable throughout the school day.

Thoughtful design makes a difference. As seen in the gymnasium we designed at Washington Elementary School, integrating daylight and natural materials creates spaces that support both movement and learning.
