Twin Lakes easily reached by a surfaced road from Bridgeport only 14 miles away, Mono Village is popular; with fishermen, hunters and campers and their families. There is sport and recreation for all who come to Mono village, in the mountains as well as on the lake. The fishing season extends from the first of May to the end of October each year, with boat and shore fishing excellent during that time. Angling is nearly always good on Upper Twin lake because there are many native fish there, and because the California Department of Fish and Game plants it regularly with catchable-size Rainbow Trout. Lower Twin Lake is but a short walk or drive along the paved road. If it's back country fishing you want, it's only a short hike to some of the finest high country lakes and streams.
