Ask almost anyone how many animals went on Noah's Ark and they'll answer:
"Two of every kind." That's what I thought too.
Then I actually read Genesis.
"And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark..." (Genesis 6:19, KJV)
So far, so good. But then God gives Noah additional instructions:
"Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female." (Genesis 7:2, KJV)
Wait a minute...
It wasn't just two of every animal. The unclean animals came by pairs. The clean animals came by sevens. So where did we get the idea that there were only two of every animal? The answer is that most of us remember Genesis 6 but forget Genesis 7. Sometimes the Bible doesn't need to be corrected.
It just needs to be read all the way through.

Why did God confuse language instead of destroying the Tower of Babel?
If you or I were writing the story, we'd probably expect fire from heaven, or an earthquake.
How bout God just knocking the tower over, but that's not what happened. Instead, God confused their language. Why?
The people said:
"Let us build us a city and a tower... lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth." (Genesis 11:4, KJV)
Then God said:
"Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language..." (Genesis 11:6, KJV)
Did you catch that? The tower wasn't the real problem. The unified rebellion was. God didn't attack the bricks. He addressed the source.
"Let us go down, and there confound their language..." (Genesis 11:7, KJV)
If God had destroyed the tower, they could have built another one. Instead, He removed the thing that made their rebellion possible. Sometimes God doesn't just deal with the symptom. He deals with the root of the problem.

The world has been asking for thousands of years:
Which came first, the chicken or the egg?
As I was reading Genesis, something interesting jumped out at me. Adam wasn't born. He was formed.
"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." (Genesis 2:7, KJV)
Eve wasn't born. She was formed from Adam.
"And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man." (Genesis 2:22, KJV)
The animals weren't born. They were created.
"And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind..." (Genesis 1:25, KJV)
Then after God created them, He told them to reproduce.
"And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply..." (Genesis 1:22, KJV)
So if we're going strictly by the Genesis account, the answer seems pretty simple. The chicken came first. The first chicken didn't hatch from an egg. It was created by God. The first egg came later when the chicken reproduced according to God's design. Sometimes the answers to life's biggest questions are found when we simply let Scripture interpret Scripture.

The book of Ecclesiastes was written by King Solomon. Solomon was the wisest and wealthiest man on earth. God blessed him with wisdom beyond measure, riches beyond imagination, and influence that few men have ever possessed. Yet in Ecclesiastes, Solomon repeatedly warns us not to place our faith, hope, and trust in the things of this world. Why would a man who had everything warn us about pursuing everything? Because he learned a hard lesson. Solomon is speaking to young people, old people, and everyone in between who is willing to listen. He experienced wealth, pleasure, success, power, influence, possessions, and fame. He had everything the world says should make a person happy. Yet at the end of his life, he realized how short life really is and how empty worldly pursuits become when God is left out. The problem was not his wealth. The problem was not his power. The problem was not his influence. The problem was how he used those blessings and how the things of this world influenced his heart. God had warned Solomon not to allow his heart to be turned away, but over time he became disobedient. His greatest regret was not what he failed to acquire; it was how far he drifted from God.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 says:
"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil." (KJV)
Solomon's final conclusion was simple: fear God and obey Him. Each of us has been given something. Some have wealth. Some have influence. Some have talent. Some have opportunities. All of us have been given free will. Every day we choose whether we will use what God has given us for His Kingdom or whether we will use it to satisfy ourselves. Those choices reveal who we are. More importantly, they reveal where our allegiance lies.
Jesus warned us about this very thing when He said:
"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven..." (Matthew 6:19-20, KJV)
And again:
"For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" (Mark 8:36, KJV)
Life is a test. Every decision we make demonstrates who we serve. God sees what we do with our time, our resources, our influence, and our opportunities.
Joshua challenged the people of Israel with these words:
"Choose you this day whom ye will serve... but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." (Joshua 24:15, KJV)
The same challenge stands before us today.
Be careful with the decisions you make. The world offers many distractions, but eternity is forever. Solomon learned that lesson after having everything the world could offer. Learn it before it is too late. God is watching. God is testing. God is looking at the condition of our hearts. Will you use what He has given you for His glory? Will you follow Him when no one is watching? Will you pass the test?

What if God wasn't real?
What if you were born into this world with no hope beyond what you could see? What if you had to face death carrying your own sin, with no redemption, no forgiveness, and no promise of eternal life?
The Bible describes what life would be like without God:
"That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:" — Ephesians 2:12 (KJV)
How awful would it be if all you had to look to for comfort was humanity? If your only source of help was other imperfect people? If doctors were your only hope when you were sick, and everything in life was nothing more than chance and circumstance?
Yet the Bible tells us where true help comes from:
"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth." — Psalm 121:1-2 (KJV)
Without God's light, how long could we truly survive?
Jesus said:
"I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." — John 8:12 (KJV)
Many people live as though there is nothing beyond society, technology, science, and human understanding. No Creator. No Savior. No eternity.
But Scripture says:
"The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God." — Psalm 14:1 (KJV)
Close your eyes and imagine a world without Christ.
The Bible teaches that a day is coming when God will remove His Church from this earth:
"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." — 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (KJV)
After that, many who rejected the truth will face a world filled with deception and judgment.
"And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:" — 2 Thessalonians 2:11 (KJV)
The good news is that you do not have to face that future.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" — Romans 3:23 (KJV)
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." — Romans 5:8 (KJV)
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." — Romans 10:13 (KJV)
If you have never received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, there is no better time than right now.
"Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." — 2 Corinthians 6:2 (KJV)
Choose hope. Choose forgiveness. Choose eternal life.Choose the Light.

HOW MANY HEAVENS DOES THE BIBLE TALK ABOUT?
Many people think there is only one heaven mentioned in Scripture, but the Bible actually reveals three distinct heavens.
The First Heaven is the atmosphere around the earth where birds fly, clouds form, and rain falls.
The Second Heaven is the realm of the sun, moon, stars, and planets, the vast expanse of outer space.
The Third Heaven is the dwelling place of God. This is the heaven the Apostle Paul spoke of when he wrote:
"I knew a man in Christ... caught up to the third heaven." — 2 Corinthians 12:2 (KJV)
The Bible also speaks of "the heaven of heavens," reminding us that God's greatness extends beyond anything our minds can fully comprehend.
Every time you look at the sky, watch a sunset, or gaze at the stars, remember that creation is pointing us toward the Creator.
"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork." — Psalm 19:1 (KJV)
The question isn't whether heaven is real.
The question is: Are you prepared for eternity?

God is who He says He is.
It doesn't matter what I think about Him. It doesn't matter what you think about Him. It doesn't matter what decisions we made that brought us to where we are today. God does not change.
"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." — Hebrews 13:8 (KJV)
His Word does not change.
"For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven." — Psalm 119:89 (KJV)
We are responsible for our decisions. God is not a tyrant looking for ways to punish people. He loves us. He loves every person He created.
"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." — 2 Peter 3:9 (KJV)
If you didn't have a purpose, you wouldn't have been created. If you didn't have a calling, God would not have formed you.
"Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee..." — Jeremiah 1:5 (KJV)
Life will still be uncertain at times. We all face decisions. Some of those decisions are unique to our own circumstances. Yet one thing remains true: there is never enough in this world to satisfy the human heart apart from God. We always seem to want more. Why can't we be content with what we have? The truth is, we were created with a desire to grow, improve, and move forward. We want to do better. We want our lives to matter. But what keeps holding us back? Negativity. Disobedience. Pride. Envy. The pursuit of status. The world's definition of success. The first place to start is learning to be content in Christ.
"But godliness with contentment is great gain." — 1 Timothy 6:6 (KJV)
Stop listening to the negative mouthpieces of the world. Start lining yourself up with God. Let Jesus take over. Stop getting in your own way. Let God be God instead of trying to carry burdens you were never designed to carry.
"Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." — 1 Peter 5:7 (KJV)
Create new patterns. Get rid of the bad habits. Open your Bible. Learn something that will make a positive difference in your life.
"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind..." — Romans 12:2 (KJV)
God wants what is best for you. Let Jesus guide you to a place of peace, happiness, and contentment. Be confident in knowing what waits for you at the end of this life. Be confident that you are not alone in this dark world.
"I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." — Hebrews 13:5 (KJV)
Jesus is the answer to every problem. You just have to realize it and choose Him. The beautiful part is this: You didn't choose Him first.
He chose you.
"Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you..." — John 15:16 (KJV)
Today is a good day to stop running, stop worrying, stop trying to do everything yourself, and surrender it all to Jesus Christ.
He already chose you.
Now choose Him.
