Brandon Bowling Coach
My goal as a coach is to make you a better bowler with an understanding for the sport. Contact me to discuss your experience and concerns.
Hello bowlers, hope all is well with your scores. The bowling Gods have been good to me lately, although intermittently between two houses, I feel that there is still hope !
I've been continuously posting articles, so keep an eye out for new posts. Remember these are written by many of the best coaches in the world, and although opinions will vary somewhat, each and every article should start you thinking about whether this is something you need to be aware of while you're bowling.
Every article pertains to just about every league or competitive bowler on the planet, so keep an open mind about them and do not hesitate to try something new. I have tried many things I've read about, some have worked for me , others have not. But if it's a small adjustment that gains you 10 or 20 pins a game, then it's worth trying.
The site is now read in several parts of the world, many of which I never realized even had bowling centers or bowlers looking for small tidbits of advice.
Please, please, please give me a like on my page, as this moves me up in the order of classification when people search for answers. You'll be doing me a huge favor, and those looking for help.
Keep checking in as there may be something you can relate to that's right up your alley ! (Pun intended !)
Until next time, keep 'em rolling !
See you on the lanes,
Bob

Happy New Year Bowlers ! And it's been a busy one, so far, and it doesn’t look like it will slow down any time soon.
So now that half of our bowling season is over, I hope you all have something good to talk about. It's a long season, that's for sure, but after all of these years of bowling I guess it's like a job....you just get used to it.
I'm very happy to report that some of my students have had some great successes over the last couple of months, even having one lady, who had a bet with her husband, beat a target he thought she'd never see. It cost him to have to wear a TuTu the next week of bowling for the whole night ! So be careful who you bet against and even what you bet ! To those of you that have had those successes, my hat is off to you and I'm extremely proud of you.
Today, I've put up “OVER 20” new articles that cover a wide range of subjects. There are new articles under every category, so check each one out. Some of them will get very deep and may require a second read. There are a few bowling writers that do extensive research for their articles and go into depth about the subjects they write about. Many articles are food for thought while some of them should be reminders of something you may have learned long ago and forgotten about. Always keep an open mind about some of them, as they may not always apply to your game, but once in a while a situation may pop up where you might be able to use that tip.
Be sure to look at the spares category, because, yes, here we have yet another spare shooting system !
That's all I've got right now, but if there's a certain subject you'd like to get info on, please email me and let me know. I have hundreds and hundreds of articles covering just about every subject on our sport. If I don't have it, I know where to get it.
See you on the lanes,
Bob

Hello Bowlers......
I'm happy to see that these bowling tips have now reached many parts of the world, including Peru, Russia, Japan, Australia, Canada and several countries in Europe.
We’ve now gotten through the first quarter of the season, and I imagine as many of you may have, what in the world have they done to the lane oil patterns? Getting frustrated on bowling night now is a common occurrence and it makes you yearn for the old days when we only had rubber bowling balls.
With that in mind, I’ve just finished posting 21 new articles which include, dealing with the mental part of the game, the physical part and added a few for the Senior bowlers. In the coming days, I’ll be posting more on lane conditions, spare shooting, and other basics in Keys to Your Success. Be sure to check them out. These articles apply to all levels of bowlers, and at a minimum, is a very good refresher course.
The one thing we all have in common, is trying to figure out why we may have had one or two good games and possibly fallen on our sword for the third game. And it always isn't just the last game; sometimes it may be the middle game or even the first. The answer is never easy, but here's some questions you need to ask yourself.
1. What was I doing correctly the one or two games that were good, versus what I did or am doing right now in this bad game?
2. Did the oil transition effect what happened or is happening?
3. Did I miss the transition and the chance to make some sort of a change, either moving my feet, my target, or maybe it was a line change to the pocket that was needed? Or was a ball change called for?
4. Did I lose concentration, i.e. was my mental game going away? Did I get distracted?
And there are more that I could come up with, but the answer usually lies in at least one of those above. It happens to all of us and hopefully not on a weekly basis. But where does the answer lie?
The information that I post, in the various aspects of our sport, are written by some of the worlds best bowling writers, who by the way, have been or currently are, excellent bowlers themselves. Combined, I would guess that there are hundreds and hundreds of years of experience between them all, in every facet of the game.
You can read them once and say to yourself, "Oh, I know about that.", and within a matter of hours forget every word you read. But how many people will remember what they read the next time they go to practice or bowl in a league or tournament? Will you/they remember the tips and tricks they read about?
It's doubtful everyone will remember everything they read unless they take that information or tip to practice. Many bowlers that take the time to practice may remember and actually try some of the things they read. And certain tips may not work for everyone, but you should always at least give some of them a try. Who knows? Maybe one or more might be the key that opens up some new insight on how to adjust to changing lane conditions, or possibly let you understand why you lose the bubble on your second or third game? Or possibly it's a physical aspect in your delivery you might be able to fix.
What I'm trying to get across to all bowlers, regardless of whether you're new to the sport or have been bowling for half a century, everyone at one time or another gets into one of those situations where you seem to run out of options or are just completely stumped on what to do. These tips, hopefully, will help you fill your "bag-of-tricks", when situations like these arise.
Read them, then read them again at a later date, make notes that you stuff into your already overstuffed bowling bag, and bring them with you when you practice or bowl in your league(s) or tournaments. These tips can & will help you.
There are several new ones that I've posted. Do yourself a favor and spend an hour or so reviewing them. They are there to help you achieve higher scores.
See you on the lanes,
Bob
New for facebook - 8-17-2018
I hope everyone has had a productive summer on the lanes practicing or bowling in a summer league.
One of my students, a newcomer, who has been quite the success story, recently mentioned that she never realized the importance, in our sport, of the mental part of the game. As we discussed the subject, it reminded me of the list of articles I had gathered on just the mental game.
So with that conversation in mind, I have uploaded the first two of many articles I believe every bowler should read. Regardless of what you average, or how long you've been in this sport, these are a MUST READ for all. The two I've chosen are going to make everyone stop and think about their own game, how much they follow these tips and how many they either didn't know or had completely forgotten about.
These are tips "everyone" should keep in the back of their mind while bowling and do a check to see if you're on track.
Bowlers soon forget how much of an impact the mental game plays in this sport. We can all relate to several of the comments of the writer and relate them back to our game.
I'll be posting new articles every few days, with a strong focus on this side of the game. Check back often, so you don't miss out on these articles. They will help your game.
Again, I love to hear from anyone about these articles and what if anything, it has helped your game. Also, if there are certain aspects or tips you'd like to see, just let me know. I have a vast library to choose from and certainly something for every aspect of the game.
Fall leagues will be starting in the next few weeks, so there's no time like the present to dust 'em off and so get out there and practice !!
Oh, and by the way, don't forget to LIKE my web site. The site has now reached bowlers in just about every country in the world so help me keep it going !
See you on the lanes,
Bob
Wow, where has the summer gone? The fall leagues are almost here and bowlers everywhere are starting to dust off their equipment they haven't seen in a couple of months.
Unless of course you have been practicing all summer and/or joined a summer league. If you're one of the thousands that the above applies to, you might not want to wait until the first week of bowling to find your equipment. Lot's of new balls on the market making buying new equipment just that much harder to decide what to get.
Several articles on this site may help you determine which ball to buy, and why you need a certain type of ball. Lane conditions aren't getting any easier, and carrydown is still a major pain in the neck after the first game. Check your equipment now and see if they need resurfacing and if you might need to change that surface to a lower (more agressive) grit, or a higher grit (later hook), to deal with the patterns you'll be shooting on. If you carry more than one ball to the lanes, and are a fairly good bowler, don't get caught up in the act of trying to make that "go to ball" work. Remember "Bowlers are stubborn". If something doesn't feel or look right to you, change something and do it quick. How many times have we all made that change in the 7th or 8th frame of the last game and found out that was the change we should've done in the beginning of the 2nd game? We've all done it and beat ourselves up on the ride home. Shoulda, coulda, woulda. Famous last words of bowlers, myself included, that made a change too late.
Still have a few openings for scheduled lessons before the fall season starts, so if you're in need of fixing a problem, now is the time to call and get scheduled.
See you on the lanes,
Bob
New Facebook Post - 6/30/2018
Its been a few weeks since I've posted any articles due to my Apple computer suddenly and totally unexpectedly crashing on me. And of course as with all of Apple's products they wanted an arm and a leg to fix it. Told them I was a bowler and couldn't afford to lose either the arm or the leg ! So fast forward a couple of weeks, going around in circles and I'm back up with a new computer. NOT Apple !
So I've posted some new articles for you to check out, some on build, physical game, lane conditions and keys for success. Definitely check out the one on build. Because we're into the summer league season, this is the time to make needed adjustments to your game. Whether you're in a summer league or two or just getting in there to practice, NOW is the time to set you goals for the fall season.
It's also time for you to get the extra help with coaching. As it is right now, lesson times are starting to fill up, so give me a call and lets get started. Every bowler, regardless of average, can use that extra pair of eyes to improve. And who doesn't want to improve? Using a video program, I'm able to slow down your delivery cycle and even stop it to demonstrate points about your delivery you might improve upon. Little adjustments DO make a difference.
Waiting until the last week in August to "dust off" the bowling balls, will not bode well during those first few weeks of the fall league.
I hope everyone has a great summer. Stay tuned for more articles to come.
See you on the lanes (soon I hope),
Bob
