There are two key advantages to creating “Depth” at the top.

1. As the hand path works outward, it shallows the pitch of the shaft.

2. As the shaft shallows, that incentivizes the pivot to rotate, and that’s “one” of the key ingredients for clubhead speed 📐

There are times when the early backswing can be super tricky for many golfers, this is a super simply concept of pulling a “Drawer” out of a dresser to get into a solid early backswing position. From there, I’m a big believer of reducing “some” tense so the joints in the arms can naturally articulate. Give it a try! 📐

This is a portion of a longer video I made for a student. One of our main focuses was wrist and backswing mechanics. I like to have a student hold the club in front of them as if they are holding it on top of a table because it makes it easier to
understand and visualize the backswing mechanics. Plus, the "knowing" is half the process.

Then we work on simple drills to develop the patterns 📐

This is an easy way to change a player's "Swing Direction" via how they pivot in the backswing and create a more "In-to-Out" pattern! Then add in a face that's left of that swing direction = Draws!
