Behind the Scenes at Learn To Thrive Academy

While summer is winding down, our team has been hard at work behind the scenes getting everything ready for an incredible school year!

These days are filled with:
✅ Cleaning and preparing our learning spaces
✅ Checking enrollment and finalizing class roster
✅ Organizing curriculum and classroom materials
✅ Making supply lists and placing orders
✅ Building and revising schedules
✅ Strengthening our leadership team and preparing our staff
✅ Making sure every detail is in place before our students arrive

There is so much that happens before the first day of school—much of it never seen—but every task is done with one purpose in mind: creating a safe, welcoming, and inspiring environment where every child can thrive.

We can't wait to open our doors and welcome our amazing students and families. The countdown is on, and we're excited for another year of learning, growing, and making memories together!

✅They read or listen to the instructions.

✅They measure, mix, prepare, and wait.
✅They share tools and take turns.
✅Then they help clean the space.

Cooking brings together academics and practical life skills in one activity.

These are the small moments that make the activity meaningful: remembering the next step, correcting a mistake, asking for help, and feeling proud after completing the task.

Culinary learning and life-skills activities are part of Learn To Thrive’s hands-on approach to helping students grow academically and practically.

The students are having fun, but the activities are not random. Each experience is planned to support their social, emotional, physical, and practical development.

At Learn To Thrive, enrichment is part of the learning—not simply something added after the academics are finished.

At Learn To Thrive, middle and high school students are not only completing academic lessons. They are learning how to present their ideas, work through real-world math, set goals, monitor progress, ask for support, manage responsibilities, and think about what comes after graduation.

𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲𝘀:
✅Exploring strengths and interests
✅Building executive-functioning skills
✅Developing confidence for high school
✅Practicing leadership and self-advocacy

For high school students, the focus grows into career planning, employability skills, Career and Technical Education pathways, dual-enrollment opportunities, presentations, projects, and preparation for college, career, trade, entrepreneurship, and life.

This is support with purpose. Students receive guidance while learning to become more responsible, capable, and independent.

We currently have 5 Middle and High School openings for the 2026–2027 school year, our greatest enrollment need.

𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗞–𝟱 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗟𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀:
🟡Building numbers with manipulatives.
🟡Practicing phonics through multisensory activities.
🟡Exploring science and STEM.
🟡Creating through art.
🟡Learning to cook, clean, organize, and help.

These experiences may look different from a traditional school day, but each one has a clear purpose.

Our elementary students work on academic foundations while also practicing focus, communication, responsibility, problem-solving, and independence.

In reading, students build skills in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary. In math, they move from hands-on materials to pictures and then to abstract formulas as they are ready. Progress is based on understanding not pressure to move at the same pace as everyone else.

That is what personalized learning means at Learn To Thrive: meeting children where they are and helping them move forward with confidence.
