DAY 6 | Haitian Heritage Month

I could have waited until Haitian Flag Day to post these (May 18th!) but they were just to cute not to post 😩. With all the changes the flag has been through in its history, red, black, and blue are special colors to me which is why I use them A LOT 😅 It’s a symbol of strength, rebellion, and unity. I hope that one day Haiti returns to its role as a sanctuary for Black people everywhere ❤️🖤💙

“Generations” 🇭🇹
DAY 5 | Haitian Heritage Month

I am first-generation Haitian-American who has yet to visit Haiti for the first time. You might wonder why I speak so fondly of a country I’ve never been to, or you might be glad that I'm invested. Simply put, I’m proud to be Haitian, and I’m proud to be a descendant of resilient African survivors that shook the western hemisphere ❤️🖤💙

DAY 4 | Haitian Heritage Month

I dedicate these to the times my mom and older sister would do my hair when I was tender-headed child. As I got older and matured, these precious times would be spent with my mom telling me stories from her childhood in Haiti about my grandparents and her 11 other siblings ❤️🖤💙
