It’s a wrap. Our 25th Relay for Life was a success! So many amazing people came to help celebrate and to raise awareness and money for cancer. Even though it was down pouring outside, it was a beautiful day inside. Thank you to all!

Mark Smith Obituary February 25, 2026 - McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home 04/07/2026

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of our Brother, Mark Smith, who died unexpectedly on February 25, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on February 22, 1958, Mark devoted 38 years of service as foreman of the Norwell Trees and Grounds Department, where his dedication helped shape the community he loved.
A passionate advocate for workers’ rights, Mark was deeply involved in the labor movement throughout his life. He joined the Boston Labor Guild in 1999, where he immersed himself in its educational programs and became widely respected for his knowledge of labor relations. His commitment led him to serve as President of the Labor Guild and later as a member of its executive board, as well as Registrar of its Labor Relations School.
Mark remained active even after retirement, continuing to support his union as treasurer and mentor to others, taking great pride in his organization and service. His leadership, dedication, and generosity left a lasting impact on colleagues and friends alike.
Mark will be remembered for his integrity, tireless work ethic, and deep commitment to the labor community. He will be greatly missed.
