Exploration geologists use multi-element geochem analysis to vector in on ore deposits. In order to help expand the geochemical ore deposit signature knowledge base, the Centre for Exploration Targeting recently made available to the public their geochemistry database project OSNACA (Ore Samples Normalized to Average Crustal Abundance). It's an open source database of assay data from 683 samples from ore deposits around the world. The 62 element assay suite includes ore, pathfinder, major and lithochemical elements. They have developed a fascinating technique to quantitatively compare all 683 samples and 24 of their assay values.
