A 20,000+ square foot rooftop radiant heating system we installed in Brooklyn NY in June 2017. This, unfortunately, was not a solar assisted system but it was a good adventure getting it done in the big city. Mark Jensen and Steve Little shown busting it out.

Once these panel go up on the roof tomorrow morning, that will make 20 of the total 100 collectors. Making it perhaps the largest solar thermal project in the state of Montana.

Protect investments in clean energy

Letter:

The Montana Legislature is poised to repeal widely used energy conservation tax credits that help Montana households control energy costs. Please join me in urging your state legislators to vote “No” on Senate Bill 171. This bill, sponsored by Sen. Bruce Tutvedt (R-Kalispell), would eliminate state income tax credits that help homeowners tackle the initial cost of installing home power systems or energy saving measures. By leveraging private investments in things like clean burning furnaces, attic insulation or solar water heating systems, these credits lower power bills for Montana homeowners. These credits also create more work for businesses like mine installing renewable energy systems, as well as the plumbers, electricians and engineers we contract with. I believe that every Montanan deserves the opportunity to take control of their energy costs, but unfortunately, by eliminating energy conservation tax credits used by thousands of families each year, our Legislature is moving quickly to put home power systems and energy efficiency further out of reach.

Co-op West Main has solar panels that heat up to 150 gallons of water (up to 140 degrees) every day throughout the year. This water is used to help wash the many dirty dishes that they go through on a daily basis, greatly cutting back on electricity usage.

Here is today's install on a fine fall day: radiant tubing for a super-insulated house near West Yellowstone (designed by Brian Segal: Birdman!) Our crew of 5 rocked in time to get back to a celebration at the Emerson for their massive new solar electric system (biggest in Bozeman). Good stuff.
