A kid from Belgrade trained in a dirt horse arena. Then he became a professional soccer player.

โšฝโžก๏ธ๐ŸŒŽ

Before the indoor facilities.
Before the turf fields.
Before college showcases and streaming platforms.

There was a young goalkeeper with a dream.

Zac Lubin joined Blitzz FC at 13 years old and dedicated himself to becoming the best player he could be. He traveled thousands of miles with teammates, trained through Montana winters, and worked relentlessly toward a goal many thought was impossible:

Playing professional soccer.

Zac would go on to play professionally in the United States and Sweden.

But when he looks back on his journey, the first thing he talks about isn't the contracts, championships, or professional matches.

It's the community.

The coaches who pushed him.

The teammates who became lifelong friends.

The parents and volunteers who made every practice, tournament, and opportunity possible.

As we celebrate 40 years of Montana Surf and Blitzz FC, Zac's story reminds us that incredible things can happen when a community believes in its kids.

The next great Montana soccer story may already be training on our fields today.

Join us at our 40th Anniversary Celebration June 12th for more stories like these.

A kid from Belgrade trained in a dirt horse arena during Montana winters.

Then he became a professional soccer player.

โšฝ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Before the turf fields.
Before the indoor facilities.
Before the streaming services and college recruiting platforms.

There was Zac Lubin.

Like so many Montana kids, Zac spent countless hours training, traveling, and chasing a dream that seemed impossible to most people. He joined Blitzz FC at 13 years old, traveled throughout the West competing against bigger clubs, and dedicated himself to becoming the best goalkeeper he could be.

Years later, that same kid from Belgrade would play professionally in the United States and Sweden for Phoenix Rising, The Seattle Sounders and IFK Luleรฅ.

But when Zac reflects on his journey, he doesn't talk first about contracts, championships, or professional soccer.

He talks about community.

The coaches who challenged him.

The teammates who became lifelong friends.

The parents who drove thousands of miles so kids could play.

The volunteers who made it all possible.

As we celebrate 40 years of Montana Surf and Blitzz FC, Zac's story reminds us what this club has always been about:

Creating opportunities.

Building community.

And helping young people discover what they're capable of achieving.

The next Zac Lubin may be training on our fields today.

โšฝ 40 Years of Montana Surf: Carl Lehrkind

When Carl Lehrkind was growing up in Bozeman, there were only a handful of soccer teams. Today, almost 1,400 players call Montana Surf home, and thousands of athletes use facilities like Bozeman Sports Park and Adam Bronken Fields every year.

Carl has experienced that growth from every angle: as a player, a parent, a volunteer, a program sponsor, and a community partner.

Like many families, he simply wanted his children to have the opportunity to play the game he loved. But when the opportunity arose to help build more fields for future generations, he and his business, Lehrkind's Coca Cola and Powerade, stepped up with needed financial support.

Because of supporters like Carl and other Blitzz/Surf families, Bozeman Sports Park became a reality. And because of that investment, thousands of young athletes now have a place to learn, compete, build friendships, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Carl also reminds us of something that's easy to overlook: opportunities like these don't happen on their own. Fields aren't built by a single person. Programs aren't sustained by a single family. Youth sports thrive when an entire community comes together.

It takes donors, sponsors, volunteers, coaches, parents, and community leaders all working toward a common goal, creating opportunities for kids. Carl continues to support Montana Surf through a year-round program sponsorship by Lehrkind's Powerade. His generosity ensures that every kid can play.

As we celebrate 40 years of Montana Surf and Blitzz FC, we're grateful for people like Carl and the countless supporters who have helped grow the game and create opportunities for generations of players.

๐Ÿ’™ Thank you, Carl, for believing in the power of youth sports and helping build a stronger future for kids in our community.
