BBI Inspections
Detailed inspection reports. Residential, commercial, ranch property structures, radon testing
I’m glad I became a home inspector.
My stepdad asked for help working on his water heater yesterday. The first words I said were “don’t worry about that thermocoupler until you get that exhaust flue connected!” The water heater had sunken into the weak floor which caused a disconnect in the exhaust flue and also serious combustion problems. Carbon monoxide is a silent killer. He had no idea things were going south with the water heater. We called a plumber and were told we were lucky we called.
Please, if you’re buying a home, have it inspected by a reputable inspector (BBI Inspections is a great choice in Montana) so you are aware of safety concerns in the home! Oh and btw the water heater was missing seismic straps and a TPRV pipe towards the floor also 🧐

Thank you to the clients that take the time to leave a google review after they receive their inspection report! I take pride in my work and really appreciate the feedback.
Like usual I went to open the exterior dryer vent hood for a look inside, but on this house it was stuck shut. The weatherstripping had become stuck over time, not allowing the hood to open which lets out air and lint. After freeing the hood and turning on the dryer, there was still no air or lint getting out due to very large lint blockage in the dryer vent. This is a fire hazard and also prevents the dryer from functioning properly. This is a good example of why home inspections are always recommended when buying a home, no matter the age or condition…and I would personally recommend giving BBI Inspections a call! 😊

Today was employee training for setting radon monitors. After talking it through, I think they enjoyed it! 🐾

My number one goal as an inspector is to use my experience and training to help my clients make an informed decision on the purchase of their new home. Reviews like this sure mean a lot!

I just wanted to share a quick video to show homeowners what can happen when a screen is installed over a dryer exhaust vent. I recommend removing these screens because they can get clogged with lint and restrict the dryer’s air and lint getting outside. If you choose to leave the screen on just make sure to check it for buildup frequently.
