🐀We've had an awesome start to our River Rat Outreach days this June!
We're partnering with the Gallatin River Task Force and the Invasive Species Action Network to educate local boaters on aquatic invasive species and the actions they can take to prevent their spread! Catch us next Thursday at the Moose Creek put in.
We've also welcomed our new River Rat Ambassador, Reggie to the team! This week he even inspected a raft and declared it free of AIS! Stay tuned for more Reggie content coming soon.

🚨Heads up that our first Land Snorkeling of the summer has been RELOCATED to Porcupine Creek! Hummocks & Uplands still has a pretty active mama bear and her cubs so we're respectfully choosing to snorkel somewhere more lowkey.
☀See you at Tuesday, June 16 at 7am for a curious start to your morning.

How serendipitous that Awareness Week is also during Noxious W**d Awareness Week! Today we're sharing FIVE exciting NEW PlayCleanGo boot brush trailhead signs we installed this spring with our awesome partners at the Gallatin County W**d District and the Custer Gallatin National Forest!
👢Where can you and your dirty boots find them?
-Spanish Creek
-Lava Lake
-History Rock
-Grotto Falls
-Blackmore
These educational signs wouldn't be possible without funding from NAISMA and Gallatin County Government's Open Lands program. Thank you both!
*Our final sign will be installed at Deer Creek once construction finishes.

👋It's Day 4 of Montana Noxious W**d Awareness Week! And what better way to discuss today's topic of Mechanical Control than by sharing our upcoming Gallatin River W**d Pull THIS Saturday, June 13th from 9-11am.
📸These photos were taken off 191 by the Zipline-one of the many sites volunteers visit that's known for lots of spotted knapw**d. Because of its taproot, spotted knapw**d is a great noxious w**d to pull by hand! Just make sure to wear gloves as the sap in its stems can be irritating.
🌼Mechanical control can also mean digging or mowing. The goal is to keep plants from flowering and developing seeds that can last for years and years in the soil. If you can't make it to this Saturday's w**d pull, try pulling w**ds at the next trailhead you visit instead!
