“The story of Broadlands is rooted in land, legacy, and care. Named after a region in the prairies of Manitoba — Treaty 1 Territory — Broadlands is where my Mémère, Alice, was born, where my Pépère, Albert, farmed for much of his life, and where they both now rest. Humble and resilient people, they raised their family on the spoils of hard work, a deep love for gardening, a shared sense of humor, and a way of living that cherished simplicity over excess.
They kept their belongings for decades. They mended, reused, and found joy in the everyday. Their life was never about accumulating more, but about caring for what they had, and each other. Broadlands Co. is a continuation of that way of being, carrying forward the values I was raised with and the way of life they modeled quietly and faithfully.
Everything we make is guided by those values and shaped by a circular mindset. Garments are designed, patterned, and sewn by hand in Bozeman, Montana, using natural fibers and sustainably sourced or reclaimed materials. We work in small batches or made-to-order, minimizing waste and maximizing longevity. None of our production is outsourced; each piece is made by founder Holly Welwood, with intention and care.”
