We are excited to kick of a major Terminal Ticket Counter Upgrade Project at Billings Logan International Airport (BIL). This project will enhance the passenger experience, expand ticketing capacity, and support growing air service at BIL. Construction is expected to take about 24 months to complete.

This will be our fourth sizable airport project in Montana in the last few years, supporting the tourism industry that drives our local and statewide economies.

This beloved renovated hub of the camp features updated spaces perfect for gathering, relaxing, and making memories—right on the shores of one of Montana’s most stunning lakes. Updated spaces include community gathering room, commercial kitchen, bathrooms and showers, offices, outdoor BBQ area, and new outdoor landscaping and walking paths.

After renovating the FBO lobby, conference rooms, kitchen, and offices, we returned to build Jet Aviation’s impressive hangar at Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN). This hangar includes:

• 80,000 sq ft of modern hangar space
• 30-foot hangar doors
• Capacity for large-cabin business jets
• 174,500 sq ft of private ramp
• Climate-controlled environment, private FBO terminal, and seamless access

Our efforts at the BZN property, whether the terminal expansions or private hangars, help our community grow as a premier gateway to the Rockies!

The construction of Aurora Innovation's 78,000 sq ft Lidar research, development, and testing facility on Montana State University's Innovation Campus is a game-changer for the region. This state-of-the-art hub will advance autonomous trucking technology with cutting-edge labs, a cleanroom manufacturing space, and vehicle testing capabilities.

We love to see high-tech innovation taking root in Big Sky Country — bringing jobs, collaboration with MSU, and the future of self-driving tech right here in Montana.

The Western Bank of Bozeman, completed by Martel in 1970, had it all....futuristic lines, rock, dark interior finishes, and pops of color.

American Bank of Montana purchased Western Bank of Bozeman, eventually replacing this building.

Our architectural metal shop in Bigfork crafted this custom railing at Latitude 48 in downtown Whitefish. Creative, whimsical, and thoughtfully designed as an inspirational nod to nature.

Most people think construction safety involves job site workers - things like hard hats, safety glasses, and barriers around fall hazards.

What often goes unnoticed is how much time and effort we put into isolating our work from the public. From hospitals, airports, schools, and other busy locations, we install adequate barriers to prevent accident risk to those using the space around our construction zones. Temporary walls, fencing, and wayfinding signage are all critical parts of our safety program.

Built on Safety isn’t just a slogan; it is part of who we are and what we do.

We held a party last night in celebration of one of our Big Sky market leaders going on to their next adventure. As a parting gift for his years of contributions, we had SCS Wraps in Bozeman design a custom YETI cooler wrap using a topographic map of Big Sky.

The cooler may have been the highlight of the party over the food, drinks, and conversation - which says a lot.

The new Missoula Montana Airport terminal features a breathtaking south facing glass curtain wall with clean, modern angular lines that perfectly complement the Missoula landscape.

On Wednesday, our Martel team had the privilege of volunteering at the Montana Contractors’ Association’s Build Montana event in Kalispell!

We spent the afternoon teaching and cheering on talented high school students as they competed in carpentry, road building, hole digging, rock piling, and a challenging obstacle course for driving a Bobcat . The energy, focus, and skills on display were impressive.

It’s inspiring to see young people seriously considering careers in construction — not just as a job, but as a real path to make a great living, support a family, and enjoy everything the Big Sky State has to offer.
