First Contact Con

Thank you all so much for an incredible First Contact Con 2026! From near and far, a community coalesced in Bozeman, Montana to celebrate cultures real and imagined this weekend, and there are more stars in our eyes about the future of this event than you can see in a clear night sky.

Thank you to our generous sponsors at and .wheelhouse for mobilizing resources to make this event come together. We are also eternally grateful to the Gallatin Valley Tourism Business Improvement District for early grant support to get us into orbit.

So many vendors and programming luminaries from the arts, literature, sciences, and more made our spaces come to life in a wonderful way. We want to make sure each of their contributions gets a special spotlight outside this general post, so for now we'll just say "thank you so much, and please come back again for the next 40 years".

Setting up staging, lights, booths, signage, and all the bells and whistles of our first big year is thirsty work, and the incredible team at has whipped up the perfect refreshment for hardworking staff and Con attendees alike. Conveniently located in the hotel complex, The Club is where you and your friends can take a relaxing moment off the convention floor to enjoy a glass of Romulan Ale! 🩵💜💚

We're so excited to see everyone in just a few weeks for First Contact Con 2026! Tickets are on sale now at the link in our bio, and the early bird sale ends soon!

We are partnering with The Break Room bar and arcade to host monthly "Super Smash Bros: Ultimate" Tournaments in tandem with an Arcade Relay Tournament where competitors vie for the highest score on a multitude of Arcade games such as Guitar Hero, Big Buck Hunter, Space Invaders, and more! The top three players in each tournament win cash prizes, and drink cards go to any competitors who are able to best the high score of our in-house Arcade champion!!!

All ages are encouraged to enter! Smash competitors: please BYOC (Bring Your Own Controllers)!!!

This is an FCC event which means that the proceeds go to building First Contact Con 2025!!!
