It’s tang tune up Tuesday! Getting this piece ready for the brass habaki.

Not unlike a lot of kids who grew up in the 90’s the samurai and ninjas of Hollywood held a special place in my heart. There was even a time when I was convinced that I could grow up to be a Japanese warrior. But reality has since set in and I’ve realized I could never be as cool as Tom Cruise. So instead I’ll use my skills as a craftsman and artist as an outlet for my inner caucasian samurai 🍜

It’s WIP Wednesday!! Doesn’t look like much, does it? Well, just like you and me, it needs to have more material removed with lots of abrasion before it will look and function the way it’s supposed to 🫠
Jokes and metaphors aside, this one is going to be pretty cool.

Leather day! Two custom sheaths to accompany blades also made by me. I’m not as good with leather as I am with wood and steel but I take my time to make sure that even though it may not be the prettiest thing it will more than get the job done!! More pictures to come when they’re finished 😎
