Endometriosis is a condition in which tissue that is similar to the lining inside the uterus (called the endometrium) is found elsewhere in the body. Although very common, it often goes undiagnosed for years, being dismissed as 'just a bad period. If you experience symptoms of endometriosis, be sure to talk to your doctor.
