Starting January 1, 2026, the City of Louisville in partnership with Eco-Cycle is offering residents a one-time $25 voucher to offset costs for recycling electronics and other items at the Eco-Cycle/City of Boulder Center for Hard-to-Recycle Materials (CHaRM) facility.

Key Details for the 2026 Voucher Program:

- Available to Louisville residents starting January 1 through the end of 2026.
- Valid only at the CHaRM facility in Boulder located at 6400 Arapahoe Rd.
- Accepted Items: Appliances (including those with refrigerants), electronics, mattresses, scrap metal such as microwaves, fire extinguishers, and more!
- Note: The voucher may not cover the total cost of recycling for some items, and it is not valid for hazardous waste. Any unused portion of the $25 voucher cannot be saved for future visits, so bring all eligible items at once to maximize your benefit!

This week marks some big sustainability wins at the Colorado capitol!

As the 2026 legislative session wraps up, Eco-Cycle is celebrating several major bills that we advocated for to advance waste reduction, climate action, recycling, and consumer rights that are now headed to the Governor’s desk to be signed into law—and one harmful bill that was defeated!

Passed and headed to the governor:

- Skip the Stuff (SB26-146): Single-use takeout items like plastic utensils and condiment packets will now be available by request only — reducing waste, saving money, and giving customers more choice.

- Landfill Methane Compliance Assistance (SB26-101): Eco-Cycle and allies successfully removed loopholes that would have weakened Colorado’s new landfill methane regulations. The bill now helps landfills comply with modern methane monitoring and leak-repair standards that protect public health and the climate.

- EV Battery Stewardship (SB26-003): EV manufacturers will now be required to collect and recycle electric vehicle batteries, helping recover valuable minerals and reduce waste. Colorado is setting a national model for battery labelling, reuse and recycling.

Successfully defeated:

- Right to Repair Rollback (SB26-090): A bill that would have weakened Colorado’s Right to Repair laws by exempting servers and routers was defeated. This victory protects consumers’ ability to repair products, reduce costs, and prevent electronic waste.

Exciting update: Senate Bill 26-146, the "Skip the Stuff" bill, is headed to the governor's desk!

Eco-Cycle is proud to have supported the high school students who led this effort. If signed into law, this bill will help restaurants across Colorado save money and reduce waste.

Calling all Denver-based food service providers, and those who frequent them!

Denver is excited to launch a new support system for businesses looking to reduce in-house waste from disposable items and add composting for staff to their operations.

Eligible food service providers can now receive up to $1,000 in reusable serviceware to make the switch from disposables to reusables. They can also apply for up to $3,600 worth of composting services for up to one year to redirect food waste from landfills.

Because gastronomy and sustainability don’t need to be at odds in Cow Town. In fact, they go hand in hand.
