Another successful conference for 2B Technologies is in the books! We enjoyed networking while discussing our portable, highly-accurate air pollution monitoring instrumentation. We look forward to collaborting on your next air monitoring project!

Please help us congratulate our General Manager, Craig Williford, for 20 years working for 2B Technologies! Craig started at 2B in 2023 as an electrical engineer and has designed every circuit board we use in our instruments. We look forward to Craig continuing to lead 2B into the future for many years to come!

Were the paintings of Claude Monet and other impressionists just “telling it like it was” during the Industrial Revolution? Maybe the dreamy scenes were Monet painting exactly what he saw—growing air pollution in rapidly modernizing Paris and London. The impressionist style has dimmer objects, whiter hues, and a low-contrast “out of focus” feel. So does polluted air, in which particulate matter scatters and absorbs light. A new study in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences studied the correlation between industrialization and the work of impressionist painters Monet and Joseph Turner. Recently 2B Technologies began collaborating with local air agencies to further customize the AQSync. We are exploring the possibility of adding BTEX and Methane to this already highly customizable air monitoring solution. These additions will allow the AQSync to be deployed for a variety of fenceline monitoring applications.

The EPA is continuously conducting community air monitoring near the East Palestine train derailment site. Thankfully the air quality seems to be normal, and their data indicates no issues with the air quality. They are also offering in-home air screenings to this day and continue to offer this service to anyone within the evacuation zone. Read more about what the Ohio EPA is doing to help the cleanup efforts of the derailment.

Air pollution appears to be affecting our mental health.

In a recent article in Neurotoxicology, more than 100 research articles from both animal and human studies that focused on the effects of outdoor air pollution on mental health were reviewed. 73% of the studies reported higher mental health symptoms and behaviors in subjects (humans and lab animals) that were exposed to higher than average levels of air pollution.
