A few weeks before a big race⌠every step hurt.
Shin pain during runs. Pain lingering throughout the day. Not exactly the build-up you want heading into something important.
Thatâs when she reached out to Alpine Fit.
With a focused planâcombining dry needling and hands-on manual therapyâwe were able to calm things down quickly, restore load tolerance, and get her back to running with confidence.
Race day? Started strong. Finished pain-free.
What also mattered: we made it work in a tight windowâfitting her in last-minute and keeping her updated on cancellations so we didnât lose momentum.
This is what the right care, at the right time, can do.
Not just symptom reliefâreal, meaningful change when it counts.
If somethingâs been lingering (especially with an event on the horizon), donât wait until it sidelines you.
Weâll help you stay in it. Curious if we can help you? Text or call us to set up a free 15-min Intro Call âď¸: 720-443-1953
What drew Dr. Sarah to Alpine Fit?
A shared belief that pain rarely starts where it shows up.
At Alpine Fit, we look at the whole body â how it moves, compensates, and adapts â so we can address the root cause, not just chase symptoms.
Itâs a more thoughtful way to help people move better and stay active for the long run.
Iâm Dr. Kyle â founder of Alpine Fit here in Boulder.
Five months ago I had a baby, and like many of our clients, Iâm in the process of rebuilding strength thoughtfully so I can maximize my time and optimize my recovery.
One of the tools Iâve been using lately is blood flow restriction (BFR) training.
BFR allows you to challenge muscle and build strength using much lighter loads, which makes it useful in phases where heavy lifting isnât the right choice yet â postpartum, after surgery, or while recovering from an injury.
In this video Iâm pairing TRX work with BFR bands â a simple way to create a meaningful training stimulus without placing unnecessary stress on joints.
At Alpine Fit we use BFR selectively with people who want to restore strength and capacity while respecting where their body is right now.
If youâre curious about the science and when we use it in the clinic, I wrote a full article explaining it.

Then you need to be active, moving, building muscle NOW đŞ. We lose 1-2% of our muscle mass every year after 50. And this loss doesnât just affect doing things you love, at a certain point it even contributes to your ability to be independent. If youâre under 50 you may not have given this much thought but the truth is the muscle you build in your 30s and 40s is foundational for the health youâll have longterm.
If youâve been holding back on strengthening because you donât know the right way or youâre dealing with an injury and not sure how to move forward safely, donât delay any longer. No matter what your age, building strength and improving your mobility is essential for your *health* span.
One of the best ways you can get started is to join us and for our upcoming workshop on spine health. This hybrid workshop is for you if youâre interested in getting out of pain now and building a strong foundation for your future self. Itâs one part Pilates class and one part Doctor-led training to help you understand the root cause behind most back pain and what you can do about it. đ§ Dry Needling for Pain Relief: Is it Right for You? đŚľ
Struggling with muscle tension or chronic pain? Dry needling might be the targeted treatment youâve been looking for.
At Alpine Fit PT, dry needling is used to release trigger points, relax tight muscles, and promote blood flow to help speed up your recovery. đĄ Unlike traditional acupuncture, dry needling is rooted in modern Western medicine and designed specifically to alleviate musculoskeletal pain.
How does it work?
𩹠Thin, sterile needles are inserted into your muscle tissue. These needles stimulate your bodyâs natural healing processes by improving circulation and reducing inflammation.
Who benefits from dry needling?
⨠Athletes recovering from overuse injuries
⨠Anyone dealing with muscle pain, stiffness, or mobility issues
⨠People suffering from headaches, neck pain, or back pain
đ The goal? Long-lasting pain relief and improved movement so you can get back to doing what you loveâwithout limitations.
