Meet your Region IV Inclusivity Coordinator, Anna Metzger!

This is why ACUI matters to Anna:
“ACUI matters to me because of the community I’ve found through it. Not only have I met and learned from talented and dedicated colleagues and students, but I’ve also developed friendships that I genuinely treasure. What makes ACUI special to me isn’t just the resources and programs, but the feeling of having a professional network and personal connections that understand the challenges of working in a student union/student engagement and celebrates the wins together.

At our last regional conference at CSU, I had two interactions with colleagues from different states/universities that I will remember forever. I first met both individuals during a roundtable, and then, because of our previous interactions, ended up reconnecting with each of them individually later in the conference. This is why ACUI matters to me. It gave me the opportunity to meet two amazing individuals and then build on that moment with other small moments. In fact, this is a great reminder for me to reach out to these two folx to see how they’re doing and keep our community strong. This, to me, is the best part of being involved in ACUI.”

Introducing your 2026 Regional Conference Planning Chair, Gilbert Falcon! .falcon Join Gilbert in giving back to ACUI today, December 4th, for ACUI’s Day of Giving. Donate at ACUI.ORG/GIVE

This is why ACUI matters to Gilbert:

“Joining ACUI back in 2021 has been one of the most meaningful decisions of my career. I had no idea how much it would shape me personally and professionally. Since then, I’ve helped plan, support, and now host four regional conferences. Celebrated incredible colleagues who’ve become true friends and found ways to give back at the local, regional, and national levels.

As we head into 2026 and beyond, I’m genuinely excited to keep pouring my time, energy, and talent into ACUI Region IV. I’m grateful to be a part of this community and all the meaningful work we get to do together.”

Our Region IV Director, Beth Goad, shares why ACUI matters to her. Join Beth in giving back to ACUI tomorrow, December 4th. Donate at ACUI.ORG/GIVE 💜

“ACUI has been my professional home since attending my first regional conference in graduate school. When I was a new professional, I was encouraged to join the regional leadership team and conference planning team. Those experiences allowed me to grow my network, increase my event planning skills, and learn from more experienced colleagues.

Additionally, getting to visit other student unions always sparks ideas I can bring home to my institution. I’m proud to be part of ACUI and tell others about how it has helped me grow as a student union professional.”

ACUI’s Day of Giving is more than a single day. It is an opportunity for our community to come together and invest in a stronger, more vibrant future for campus life. This year, our goal is to raise $15,000 to support the ACUI Education and Research Fund, which fuels:

• Scholarships for student leaders.
• Professional development for campus staff.
• Research that drives meaningful change in higher education.

Whether someone gives $10 or $100, every contribution helps shape more inclusive, engaged, and innovative campus communities.
