Piglets & Pancakes Spring Fundraiser 2026 🐷🥞🌱

What an incredible day on the farm!

We are feeling so grateful after welcoming so many of you to our Piglets & Pancakes Spring Fundraiser. Because of your generosity, volunteer support, attendance, and donations, we were able to raise $13,000 toward the $27,000 needed to launch our new Adult Mental Health Garden program this season.

This farm continues to grow into so much more than a place of food production. It has become a space where people can slow down, reconnect with nature, work with their hands, and find grounding through connection with soil, plants, animals, and community.

One of the most meaningful reflections from the day came from Cameron, who shared that just as healthy soil is the foundation for everything we grow on the farm, the farm itself has become the foundation for our mental health programs. A healing space where connection, groundedness, ease, and peace can take root in people.

We truly could not do this work without your support. Thank you for believing in what we are building together.

There is still time to help us reach our goal for this season through a general donation or by joining our new Adopt an Animal program 🐮🐷🐴🐓 LINK in bio

Special thanks to Nancy Lindo (photo credit), Bridget Law (music), and our sponsors Elevations Credit Union , Woodhouse Spa Broomfield Snooze , Flower Bin , & Grandrabbits

This spring storm is bringing the moisture we’ve been hoping for—nourishing the land, the crops, and all the life that depends on it 🌧️

As we head into a full and joyful weekend, we’re incredibly grateful to be hosting a SOLD OUT Piglets & Pancakes Spring Fundraiser this Saturday 🐷🥞
The support from this community continues to make our work possible.

If you aren’t able to join us in person, there is still a meaningful way to be part of what’s growing here 💛

Adopting a farm animal is a meaningful way to support the daily life of the farm while staying connected to the animals who make this work possible. Each animal plays a real role here—from cultivating fields to supporting mental health and education programs—and your adoption helps care for them while sustaining the programs they power.

By participating, you’re directly supporting the launch of our Adult Mental Health Programs and helping us continue to grow this work in a deeply impactful way.

✨ We’ll be adding a link in our bio with animal bios and details on how to participate!

In the wee hours of the morning last Friday, our beloved Nasturtium welcomed a little bull calf into the world — Acorn 🌰🤎
This summer, Acorn will join our heifer calf Aspen and Sticks’ calf (due mid-May) as part of our summer camp program, and we already know these little ones are going to make a big impact.
There is something incredibly special about the relationship that forms between children and calves. They truly learn alongside each other. The calves bond with humans, learn to wear a halter, be led, and build trust with gentle guidance. For the kids, the calves are small and approachable, creating opportunities for connection, confidence, patience, and pride as they learn to work together.
Watching both the children and calves grow over the summer is one of the sweetest parts of farm life. Welcome to the herd, Acorn 💛🐄

Winnie is a beautiful guernsey and jersey mixed cow, and one of our oldest cows on the farm. She gave birth to a big healthy Bull Calf this week, and we are excited to have her coming back into the dairy barn and making the best golden creamy milk!

Last night we welcomed our very first Light Root Teen Group—and it was such a special way to begin 🌱

We spent the evening in the greenhouse sowing seeds, transplanting lettuce starts, and getting our early spring projects underway as we begin to grow this season’s garden together. We brushed Willow and talked about the important role she plays in helping the work of the farm. Teens milled corn to make fresh corn pancakes for snack, gathered and cleaned eggs, and even started incubating a clutch of Dorking eggs—learning how heat (100°), humidity, and rotation all come together over 21 days to bring new life.

We ended the night by feeding baby Aspen, our first calf of the spring 🐄

At the beginning of the session, many of the teens shared they were feeling tired after a full day inside, at school. By the end, something had shifted. Time on the farm—working with plants and animals, being outside, and slowing down—offered space to reset, reconnect, and recharge.

This is why we do this work 💛

These winter months have been kind to us on the farm, lending time for rest, renewal, and inspiration for the coming season. 🤍
The farm has settled into a quieter, slower pace, and the mild weather has granted us time to catch up on some backlogged projects—spreading more compost onto the fields to feed this year’s hay and pasture crops, continuing training with the working cattle, and refurbishing farm equipment.
The cow herd has been especially content this winter, with 40–50 degrees and sunshine being their favorite weather! ☀️
And it won’t be long until some of our gestating dairy cows begin birthing their spring calves, with the first cow, Windee, due in early March. New life on the farm is always a welcomed sign of spring, and we are excited to share this seasonal journey with you as the farm wakes up from its winter slumber. 🌱🐄
