Last week, we were interviewed by CBS about the heat pump rebate landscape in Colorado right now and the numbers are worth knowing:

Stacked rebates and incentives are averaging $6,000 – $12,000 depending on system size. On a typical installation that runs $15,000 – $25,000, that's roughly half the cost covered. And this is adding another $1,500 on top.

We're installing 7 – 8 heat pumps a week across the Front Range. The demand is real because the math makes sense.

Heat pumps aren't just an upgrade, they're the foundation of a fully electric home. Pair one with solar and battery storage and you're generating your own energy, running your own HVAC, and largely operating outside the utility's pricing schedule.

Last week we had the privilege of celebrating grand opening alongside their community.

We handled the solar on their roof and the battery backup system inside and on opening day, we got to share that work firsthand. We gave tours of the battery room and spent time at our booth talking with neighbors, business owners, and curious folks who had never seen a battery backup system up close before.

That's one of our favorite parts of this work. It's not just about the installation, it's about being present in the communities we serve and helping people understand what energy independence actually looks like.

The Independent Power team spent Earth Day at the 12th Annual Longmont Earth Day Celebration, and it was a great one.
