ed with Skip Marley and Giant Panda Guerrilla Dub Squad. Over the years, J Dubular has featured special guests including members of Easy Star All Stars, Sinkane, The Motet, and Sophistafunk. J Dubular has produced three albums to date and are excited to release their fourth album via NYC-based label Disclosure Records in the Spring of 2023 titled “Medicine Woman.”

Echo Mountain:
Granular Meets J Dubby at Echo Mountain to produce the vibrations of J dubular. The union and resulting journey is not one of ascension or descent, but about how to sonically (and scenically) navigate the terrain. J Dubby’s drums and Granular’s bass establish the foundational “riddim” of their travels as the duo takes us spelunking through caverns of reverb haunted by flocks of bats screeching ambient white noise. The splash of metallic puddles resonates in the space between our ears and drones in the ether of our mind’s eye. And just as one becomes disoriented by the soundscapes within Echo Mountain, people all over the world join hands as J Dubby’s righteous organ propels the locomotion of a “Dub Train.” In these moments of resolution we are reminded that our tour guides are not the first to traverse the crags of Echo Mountain, yet in their voyages they have found new paths through a rich tradition mapped by dub explorers. Lion On A Rock:
Though the opening track on Lion On A Rock claims to be “Just a Dub,” one listen would indicate otherwise. Even as its ethereal vocals plead, “Gimme some truth,” it would appear that J Dubular has already found some. “Rag Dub” finds this truth heading Far East as it lumbers slowly through a vast desert, thirsty, breathless and disoriented. And just as the spirit is about to break, it finds an oasis of holy magnitude at the eleven-minute mark. “Booter Dub” brings sounds of hypnotic release and relaxation. A snake-charming guitar coaxes a muted trumpet out of its weaved basket as the two seductively lure the listener into submission. Once seduced, “Blip Dub” provides the soundtrack to a Dionysian o**y of epic proportions, complete with some serious guitar heroics – the ultimate reward for an enlightened soul. As if calling on their own inspiration for “something I can trust,” J Dubular challenges themselves, and their genre, before settling back into a peaceful existence in the world of dub.
