This is the latest of many headlines I see where very smart and accomplished people have wire fraud successfully happen to them. But, the fascinating thing about it, is you actually have to be cooperating with the thieves! They are very smart and they pose as the title company or someone else in email or some other way and it is a very lucrative criminal enterprise! I have some very low technology solutions that completely prevent this from happening. All my clients have to do is listen to my instructions and this doesn't happen to them. Though, sometimes attempts still happen. I warn them and put the fear of God in them about it. It works! Today, I ended up at the Dr. and then at the pharmacy. I lost about 2.5 hours of work time. I still made time to enjoy dinner with the family and a nice fire pit in the backyard. Then I got back to work. I had told two real estate clients that I would get them things that are important to them by today. I'm sure they might understand if I got it to them tomorrow. But, it was within my power to get these things to them tonight. That is the life of being a self employed real estate agent. All kinds of interesting hours! This is a small slice of insight into the things we do for people everyday. I enjoy so many things about it and I am not complaining. I just describing how things go sometimes. I am super grateful for the flexibility, but with that comes the other side, of getting things done when I say I will.

You might be asking, what kind of post is this. Is this a shameless plug, a commercial. Well, yeah, it kind of is. It has been a crazy market and I'm looking for more people to help! I am good at what I do, I work hard for the people that put their trust in me and I'm glad to keep doing it. If you got hail the other night you've probably already had more than one roofer want to get on your roof. We've already had phone calls and a stranger at our door yesterday.. You probably will soon too. It is a good idea to have your roof evaluated after a storm like this. But, there are some pretty deceitful scam artists that like to take advantage of situations like this.

As a licensed and active Real Estate agent & property manager, I interface with a large number of contractors of all kinds. One that rises to the top and that I have worked with on a number of roofs over the years and who will both do a good job, walk you through the insurance process well, and tell you the truth is Mitchell Shepperd with 1st Colorado Roofing. Polis, Colorado legislators unveil plan for property tax relief 05/04/2023

Every two years we get our new property tax evaluations in Colorado. I am getting a lot of calls asking questions about this. As a leading Realtor in the area, I am already doing complementary reviews of these notices for folks. I am happy to see if a protest is a reasonable option for you as well. In addition, I am glad to see the governor is doing something to try to offer relief. But, they have known this mess was coming for a long time and they waited until now, so this is too little and too late. We need to do more to have a more reasonable property tax system than this. We need a complete overhaul of the way this is done. Here is the article to show what they are trying to do:
