At the heart of In Motion Running is Mark Plaatjes, Head PT, Owner, and a lifelong student of the sport. Mark is a former World Championship marathon gold medalist and one of the most accomplished distance runners of his era. After competing at the highest level globally, he saw firsthand how injuries, poor movement, and lack of education can derail runners at every level.

That experience is why In Motion Running exists. Mark wanted to create more than a place to buy shoes. He envisioned a space where runners could get real answers where retail, physical therapy, gait analysis, and education all work together to keep people running healthy for the long term.

Alongside Mark, our team brings expertise across shoe fitting, clinic operations, massage therapy, and runner support. Together, we’re here to help runners understand their bodies, make smarter training decisions, and feel part of a community that genuinely cares.
