Last year, I was introduced to Costa Boutsikaris, co-director of the film "Inhabitants."

Like many of us, I've seen a lot of documentaries on food and the environment over the years. Yet, something about this film felt different and unique, so I decided to watch it. I was so glad I did. I felt inspired and humbled listening to stories of the North American tribal stewardship and land management practices related to fire, food, water, forestry, buffalo, and fish.

🌱PROTECT ORGANIC with REAL ORGANIC PROJECT🌱

We are proud to have been a part of the founding of the Real Organic Project (ROP) along with the pioneering organic farmers in the US to protect the integrity of the organic label in 2017 with our Protect Organic campaign.

Organic farmers started their own add-on certification to the USDA organic label with the Real Organic Project - one that they feel reflects more truly how they farm and what they offer their communities and customers.

LπŸ‘€K for the Real Organic Project label in stores everywhere in the U.S. for "real organic" food and support "real organic" farmers! πŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸŒΎ

We hope to see you at the ROP Symposium, of which Next 7 is a sponsor.

As a partner to the , Next7 is excited to moderate an online session for the launch of the Bionutrient Institute study: Defining Nutrient Density in Beef THIS THURSDAY @ 3pm EST - and you're all invited! This is also the final session for the 2021 Soil and Nutrition conference, and we're so excited about this session that we're offering it to the public at NO CHARGE.

πŸ—£ This study will assess hundreds of microbial species, elements and compounds in beef, their microbiome, forage/fodder, and soil. We are also designing the study to identify the connection between Nutrient Density and management. We know that the levels of nutritional compounds in beef correlate directly with the quality of forage. For example, animals grazed on a polyculture pasture have higher levels of phytonutrients than animals grazed on a monoculture forage, which are still higher than cows fed grain. πŸ„πŸŒΎ

We have an all star line up that you won't want to miss! We hope to see you there.

Happy Harvest! πŸ…πŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸŒΎ

It’s our favorite time of the year! A plentiful harvest means βœ…fresh βœ…healthy βœ…nutrient dense food
day in and day out. Tomato pesto is by far one of our homemade favorites!

It’s that time of year to start food preservation. Tomato pesto, pickles, kale chips and everything in between!

What are some of your favorite food preservation methods? We’d LOVE to try something new this year. πŸ˜‹

First Harvest of the season for our garden! πŸ₯’πŸ₯¬

As the season calls for it, extracting all those rich nutrients into a broth with a low temp, overnight, slow cook, ensures that the nutrients stay intact! 🍲

Nutrients high in:
βœ… Vitamin C

βœ… Vitamin K

βœ… Vitamin B

βœ… Calcium

βœ… Zinc

βœ… Magnesium

βœ… Potassium

βœ… Copper

βœ… Iron
And plenty more!

There’s truly nothing better to wake up to than the aroma and flavor of all those nutrient dense vegetables jolting my senses awake! πŸ˜‹

πŸ’š How do you prepare your harvest? πŸ’š

β€˜Selling out a national resource, at 75 billion bottles every year.’

Incredible article about the impact the water bottle industry has had on our world and how the lack of attention to our water supply continues to feed the plastic industry.

This month is an incredible opportunity for us to recognize the open loop systems we as a society, continue to contribute to.

Plastic use for example, as we know, plastic does not degrade. So why is it so easy for us to ignore that fact when we contribute to single-use plastics?

Perhaps it’s because we don’t directly feel the effect plastic has on our world. We throw the bottle in the recycling assuming it will be recycled.

Done.
I’ve done my part.

Wrong.

9% is what actually ends up being recycled. There’s definitely more work to be done.

♻️ Let this be another reminder for you this month, to challenge yourself to not only RECOGNIZE the ripple effect your decisions have.. but to be conscious enough to make the necessary CHANGE. ♻️

07/12/2021

Take time to recognize and appreciate the growth.

🌱 🌿 🌹 It’s the many small things over a long period of time that can make the difference.

Happy Monday Everyone! ☺️
