today we got the news that our teacher Hermeto had passed. i cried
i didnt expect to cry, i didnt expect to continue crying and crying and crying for the last 42 minutes. as i gather myself im reminded of his words echoning in my head “the music lives on, it has its own soul” his memory and his wisdom will continue to guide us and resonate through the world. i will be sure to keep his teaching close to me and spread then far and wide. thank you for everything- the best teacher i ever had. he would want us to be happy, he would want us to be present with the sounds around us. ill stop crying now, for you hermeto, for you sir.
