Alpi Apuane Central Section: 2nd climb of Monte Freddone (1,479m) on December 29, 2025. The trailhead is at the West ridge of Monte Corchia past the Marginetta a San Rocco. Then you hike to the Passo di Fociomboli to reach the climbers path off of CAI 11. The path first traverses the East side of Monte Paglino before climbing to the saddle between it and Monte Freddone. While generally a benign climb, there are a number of rock scrambles on the route.

Alpi Apuane NW Section: Rocca d Tenerano (1202m) climbed on November 11, 2025; total time was 2:30 roundtrip. The trailhead was up on Monte Sagro at Campocecina. The trail taken was CAI 171 to the base at the Croce di Tenerano then the climber's path to the summit.

Alpi Apuane South Section - Monte Forato (1208m) climbed on June 6, 2025 for a 2nd time. The trailhead is at the Cava Casalina past the village of Cardoso. While I intended to climb via trail CAI 12, I missed a turn at a holiday home and ended up on an unmarked path to Casa Colleoni and had to loop back on the CAI 124. I lost more time backtracking as the route was poorly marked in many parts and I lost the trail. The round trip, including a lunch at the Monte Forato Nord summit, was 5:30. The altitude gain was 775m or about 2,500 feet.

River hike in the Alpi Apuane on November 3, 2025: along the Fiume Versilia to the Polle di Malbacco (waterfall) and Pozzo della Madonna (pool at its base). Parking is 3.3km from the turn off from the SP9 on to Via Michelangelo Buonarroti and is on the left. Hike 2km along the narrow road to the trailhead. From there, it is 0:15 to the waterfalls.

Alpi Apuane - Monte Lieto (1016m) climbed for the 2nd time on October 14, 2025. The trailhead is at Sant' Anna di Stazzema. This was a short, pretty climb mainly in the shade up the NW spur.
