Shaping the Future of Middle-Income Housing in Boulder.
Our principal architect, Scott Rodwin, is speaking at the Middle-Income Housing Summit—a pivotal working session bringing together developers, elected officials, business leaders, and community stakeholders to tackle one of our region's most pressing challenges: creating attainable housing for the workforce and families who power our communities.
This event goes beyond discussion. It's designed to spark actionable ideas, meaningful collaboration, and lasting impact—forging partnerships that will shape the future of sustainable, inclusive housing in our region.
Join us June 18, 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at CU Boulder's Kittredge Central Hall. Free for elected officials.

Tile selection: where our clients discover they have *strong* opinions.
We're not saying these bathroom tiles are going to change lives, but we're also not *not* saying it.
Watching these beauties go in on a couple of our current projects, and honestly, we're here for it.

Viewfinder: where refined modern design meets regenerative stewardship.
Nestled into Boulder's foothills, this net-positive energy residence is anchored by a limestone base that feels hewn from the earth, while warm wood and crisp stucco float lightly above. Every detail—from the terraced outdoor rooms to the dynamic ceiling plane lifting toward the Flatirons—is shaped by light, topography, and deep environmental intention.
The result? A home that performs as beautifully as it looks. ERI of -20. Passive solar strategy paired with solar arrays, battery backup, and high-performance systems. Luxury and sustainability, in perfect alignment.
Recognized with an Honorable Mention at the International Design Awards (2025).

The Skycatcher window.
An outdoor space designed for stargazing—where the skylight frames the cosmos like a portal. This is where architecture meets wonder so you can lose yourself in the vastness above.
To infinity and beyond.

Japango Fort Collins just opened in a historic main street building, and we designed it to celebrate the artistry of the food through the artistry of the space. From the bespoke reception with dramatic neon mountain artwork to the serene blue-tiled sushi bar, every detail invites you to linger.
Cozy booths. Raised lounges. A stunning front bar. Glass-walled private dining with origami-crane chandeliers. A bamboo grove path to the bathrooms. And a signature cylindrical jellyfish tank that's pure magic.
This is what happens when design meets hospitality with intention.

Boulder stands at a crossroads. We've layered well-intentioned rules to protect our community—sustainability, resilience, neighborhood compatibility—but in doing so, we've made it too hard to build the very things we need: housing, vibrant places, and sustainable communities.
Scott Rodwin's latest piece challenges us to ask a critical question: Have we created a system that naturally produces the results we want?
As architects and builders, we're passionate about green building and environmental stewardship. But we've also come to realize that housing can't be so hard, slow, and expensive to build that people can't live here. When folks commute from elsewhere, our collective carbon footprint suffers—erasing much of the good our green building rules do.
The answer isn't more rules. It's a better system. One that balances our values with the reality of what our community needs.

This is what a storybook dream looks like mid-chapter.
Curved rooflines. Arched windows. Architectural details that feel whimsical yet timeless. This home is being built with the same precision we bring to every project—because fairy tales deserve engineering that lasts.
