Is there a leaking well near your kid's school? 🏫
Old, low-producing marginal wells are scattered across Colorado's Front Range, often right next to homes, schools, and playgrounds. They leak. They contaminate soil and groundwater. And most people never give them a second thought.
Join us this Thursday, June 4 at 5:00pm to learn what we can do about these overlooked wells near Colorado schools.

Aging. Leaking. Barely maintained. And sitting less than a mile from where your kids go to school.
Over 450 marginal wells in Colorado aren't producing much oil and gas anymore, but they're still releasing methane, leaking toxic fluids, and posing risks in our communities.
Operators keep collecting tax breaks while these wells sit and deteriorate, with no deadline to clean them up.
That ends when enough of us demand it. Add your name to the letter we're sending oil & gas operators; visit https://corfc.org/marginal-wells/

BREAKING: On April 12, answering a call from Palestinians in Gaza, the Global Sumud Flotilla sails from Barcelona with 70+ vessels and 1000+ participants to break Israel’s illegal blockade of aid to Gaza.
Hundreds of medics, teachers, and eco-builders, with expertise in healthcare, education, and sustainable rebuilding, are sailing to support the people of Gaza.
Greenpeace’s Arctic Sunrise ship is providing technical and operational maritime support to the flotilla so that vessels can safely transit the Mediterranean before they complete the last 200 nautical miles to Gaza’s shores.
While world governments have lacked the courage and conviction to uphold international law and their obligation to prevent genocide in Gaza, the Sumud Flotilla is a beacon of global solidarity and symbol of hope in action. The flotilla is a call for governments to act with urgency and principle.
Unlike extractive industries like hydraulic fracturing, agrivoltaics doesn’t deplete or contaminate resources. It doesn’t require massive water withdrawals, and it doesn’t leave behind long-term environmental damage. Instead, it keeps land in agricultural use while adding a second layer of productivity.
We don’t have to choose between energy production and agricultural preservation. Colorado farmers like Byron Kominek at are already proving that we can do both. The question is not whether alternatives to fracking exist, it’s whether we will choose to support and scale the solutions already working in our own communities.

🚨 The ECMC just dropped the biggest single-day enforcement action against oil and gas operators in over a decade: 157 Notices of Alleged Violation, nearly double the previous record set in 2018. We're talking no proof of insurance, no license to operate, and no contributions to the fund meant to clean up their own industry's mess. 43 operators checked all three boxes at once.
Operators could face penalties approaching $900,000 each, but there’s a catch. Visit https://corfc.org/news/ for the blog post where we break it all down. 👆

Chevron-owned Noble Energy could face $1.53M penalty for well blowout Colorado regulators are proposing a $1.53 million penalty against Chevron-owned Noble Energy for a blowout of a fracking well that sprayed pollutants over homes and a school in Weld County.

This one is a no-brainer. 90% of Colorado voters agree: Oil and gas companies—not taxpayers—should foot the bill for cleanup and restoration after drilling. Why should taxpayers cover the cleanup costs when oil companies make the profits? U.S. Department of the Interior keep the requirement that industry pays for restoration.
