The 2025 travel team is proud to share the completion of our 2025 bridge build: Khelekhele!

Spanning over the Mhlane River in Eswatini, this bridge connects communities and provides year-round access to essential services. The Khelekhele Bridge represents months of design, planning, and on-site collaboration between CU Boulder students, local builders, and Engineers in Action.

A huge thank you to the Khelekhele community, our masons, and everyone who made this project possible.

The 2024 CU Boulder WASH team is proud to celebrate the completion of our water system project in Chocopampa, Bolivia! 💧
After a year of design and preparation, our team partnered with community members to construct a gravity-fed water system bringing clean, reliable water directly to homes. From trench digging and tank construction to shared meals, dancing, and soccer matches, every moment reflected true collaboration and connection. 🇧🇴

Thank you to the Chocopampa community and Engineers in Action for making this possible. We’re so grateful to have been part of this journey toward improved water access and community resilience. 💙

🚧 Buffs in Action Meeting Recap 🚧

This week, our team got hands-on with a classic spaghetti & marshmallow tower challenge 🏗️. It was a fun way to practice collaboration, problem-solving, and structural design while getting to know each other better.

Alongside the activity, we also reviewed:

📅 Our Yearly Cycle:
• Fall: Build community, attend the Bridge Conference, and select our travel team.
• Winter–Spring: Fundraising, design review calls, and technical workshops.
• Summer: Travel abroad to build real projects in partnership with local communities.

💡 Why It Matters: Footbridges and WASH projects increase school enrollment, improve healthcare access, boost farm profits, and empower women in the labor market.

We’re excited to keep building momentum this semester—both in our meetings on campus and through the life-changing projects we’ll contribute to around the world! 🌟

Our Story

Bridges to Prosperity is a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing poverty created by rural isolation by building pedestrian bridges over impassable rivers in communities that would otherwise be unable to afford them. During the rainy season, many communities are left without access to essential healthcare, education and economic opportunities. Our student chapter will be constructing a 170 ft bridge in the rural village of Copachunchu, Bolivia this summer. Right now we are focusing on gaining support and fundraising, so any involvement helps! We will be sending a small team on a week long trip this winter to conduct a topographical survey of the bridge site and next semester we will begin to design our bridge. Whether your looking to get involved, help fund our mission, or simply joining for moral support, we greatly appreciate your contribution. Thank you for your support and feel free to ask us any questions at our email: [email protected]
