We’ve got electrifying news for Bothell: The City was recently awarded grant funding from the Washington State Department of Commerce's Washington Electric Vehicle Charging Program (WAEVCP) to support electric vehicle (EV) charging access in our community.

These funds help will allow us to work with local agencies and engineers to complete site designs for future EV charging stations, as we plan for charging station expansion across the city. Check out the article below to learn more. ⬇

Supporting more environmentally friendly transportation options is just one of many priorities identified in the City’s Climate Action Plan. There’s more to come, so stay tuned for additional updates as the work moves forward!

The WAEVCP is supported with funding from the state’s Climate Commitment Act. The CCA supports Washington state’s climate action efforts by putting cap-and-invest dollars to work reducing climate pollution, creating jobs, and improving public health. 🏳️‍🌈 Pride flags are up at City Hall and other facilities and will fly throughout the month of June.

While Pride Month is one form of representation, the City is committed to inclusion and equality for all, all year long. As the City Council's 2040 Vision states, "Bothell has a responsive government that is open to everyone. UPDATE: The road is now open. Thank you to our police department and the many crew members who assisted in this response.

⚠️ Bothell Way NE remains closed in both directions from NE 188th Street to Reder Way due to a collision that damaged a power pole and brought down power lines in the roadway. The road is expected to remain closed until repairs can be made, which may take six to eight hours. ⚠️

Here's what you need to know:

➖ Public Works crews have detours in place and are cleaning debris and checking for any impacts to the storm system.
➖ Puget Sound Energy (PSE) is onsite. Their current repair estimate is six to eight hours, but this may change as work continues. PSE will determine whether a partial reopening is possible, and the road may reopen earlier if safe.
➖ Traffic is flowing smoothly through the detour route, and crews will remain onsite until PSE’s full team and traffic control are established.

Please avoid the area if possible and follow posted detour signs when traveling through. Bothell Police Department will be providing updates on their page as cleanup and electrical restoration work continues.
