Properties in First Look must be submitted to NWMLS and are accessible to all 30,000+ NWMLS member brokers. This helps ensure equal broker access and prevents properties from being marketed exclusively through private or off-MLS networks.

📣 Up to 21 Days of Pre-Launch Marketing
Sellers and listing brokers can publicly market a property in First Look for up to 21 days while preparing for the official Active launch.

👀 Showings Are Optional
Sellers can choose to allow showings during First Look — or wait until the property officially launches as Active.

🎯 More Marketing Flexibility
Sellers can choose whether their First Look listing appears across thousands of IDX websites or use a more tailored public marketing strategy during the preparation period.

📊 Pre-Launch History Is Preserved
Activity during First Look — including days in status and pre-launch price changes — remains available within NWMLS so brokers and their clients can see the property's history.

💡 Why this matters for sellers
Not every home is ready to hit the market on Day 1.

First Look gives sellers additional time to finish repairs, complete staging, prepare photography and video, finalize marketing, or simply get everything in place — without completely taking the property off the table for the brokerage community.

It creates a middle ground between “we're not ready yet” and “we're officially Active.”
