Please join us on Friday, May 12th 3:00‐4:30 pm in Discovery Hall 464 for the third in our 4-part TIPS series this quarter, Listening to Student Voices (a student panel).
Participants in this workshop will have the opportunity to hear directly from a panel of undergraduate and graduate students about their experiences in class discussions at UWB. We will integrate the theory and practice gained from Workshops 1 and 2 with the students' perspectives on class participation.
All Learner-Educators (faculty, staff, and students) are welcome to attend any or all of the workshops. Please RSVP for the May 12th workshop to [email protected].

Are you interested in how to include diverse student voices in classroom activities and discussions? Then join facilitators, Deirdre Vinyard (IAS Senior Lecturer) and Natalia Dyba (Director Global Initiatives) for a 4-part TIPS series this quarter to learn and share with other learner-educators (faculty, staff, and students) who teach undergraduate and graduate students!
All Learner-Educators are welcome to attend any or all of the workshops, but for those who would like to commit to participating in all 4 workshops, you can receive a spending credit of $150 to be used on class materials, books, travel, or other work-related purposes. Once again the POGIL community will offer summer workshops to provide training and support for active learning pedagogies and facilitation.There are three tracks available: facilitation, labs, and activity writing.
The Pacific northwest workshop is in Portland at Lewis and Clark College from July 25-28th. For less than $250 you receive two and a half days of workshops, meals, and housing! Plus you get to interact with educators from all over the region! You do not have to be a POGIL practitioner to attend, you can learn as you go!
If you have any questions, feel free to email Dr. Charity Lovitt ([email protected]) as she will be part of the leadership team at the workshop this summer!
