The 18th Koka-ryu Ninja Certification Exam took place in Koka, Shiga Prefecture, a city known as one of Japan’s historic ninja centers. The event drew 131 participants from Japan and overseas who competed in various challenges to earn official ninja certification.

The exam is divided into beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. Participants dressed in a variety of creative ninja outfits, adding to the event’s distinctive atmosphere. Additional points were awarded for costumes and shuriken throwing performance in the beginner category. Those who pass receive an official scroll and are recognized as Koka ninjas. The event continues to promote and preserve the legacy of the Koka ninja tradition.
