This is my silversmithing journey. A page to share my journey and showcase my work. I have a passion for using recyclable materials in my work.

I particularly love old marbles and sea glass set in sterling silver.

Trusting the Process

Sometimes it’s all about trusting the process.

I couldn’t be more thrilled with how this glass paw print pendant has turned out. I’ve been lucky enough to take part in a couple of fusion glass sessions with Carolyn Garland so far, and one of the things I wanted to create was a few glass pieces that could eventually be made into pendants.

This paw print pendant has turned out far better than I ever imagined. At the start of the process, I never thought it would end up looking quite like this, and yet here it is – absolutely stunning.

The pendant is a triangular piece of fused glass featuring paw prints in a beautiful bronze colour that catches the light and, from certain angles, even shimmers with hints of blue. It’s been set in a sterling silver bezel and finished with a sterling silver paw print bail and sterling silver chain, which complement the piece perfectly.

To say I’m over the moon with it would be an understatement. In fact, I love it so much that I genuinely can’t decide whether to keep it for myself or offer it for sale!

A huge thank you to Carolyn for all her guidance, encouragement and expertise throughout the glass-making process. It’s been fascinating to see how a simple idea can transform into something so beautiful when you’re willing to trust the process.

Now just to decide ....to keep order to sell 😊❤️

I’ve had another absolutely fantastic time at the Fusion Glass class today!

A huge thank you to everyone in the class for being so welcoming, and a very special thank you to Carolyn Garland for inviting me along. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed learning new techniques and creating some beautiful glass pieces that I’ll be turning into pendants and other pieces of jewellery.

Last week, I made a lovely sheep scene, which Carolyn has kindly mounted into a card for me, ready to gift to someone special, along with some pendant pieces. This week, I’ve been working on some little skydiver-themed pieces to go into cards, and I can’t wait to see how they turn out after firing next week.

It’s been such a creative and enjoyable experience, and I’m already looking forward to seeing the finished results 😊❤️

Some more lovely coloured pieces to create into some beautiful jewellery in the future. I have a few ideas but nothing solid in mind yet. I am looking forward to experimenting with these at some point ✨

A little while ago, I bought this beautiful orange stone. It’s quite a large stone, but the way it caught the light was absolutely stunning and I just couldn’t resist it. ✨

From the moment I saw it, I had a really clear vision of what I wanted to create with it — a bold, chunky statement necklace that would truly let the stone shine. And honestly, it has come out exactly how I imagined it would.

I absolutely love the rich orange tones in this piece. The colour glows beautifully in the light and makes such a striking statement while still feeling elegant and timeless.

The stone has been encased in sterling silver and paired with a sterling silver paperclip chain, which complements it perfectly and gives it that modern statement feel.

I’m so pleased with how this one turned out. 🧡

I’ve received some incredibly touching messages and honestly, they’ve reminded me exactly why I started making these marble pendants in the first place. 💙

It all began when my lovely friend Jackie gave me some of her dad’s old marbles. They are over 100 years old and had been tucked away safely for years. I had the idea of turning them into silver pendants so that instead of sitting unseen in a box or jar, they could become something meaningful that could be worn, treasured, and kept close every day.

Since then, I’ve made pieces for other members of her family too, and today Jackie sent me screenshots of messages from her sister about what the jewellery means to them. I honestly can’t put into words how much it touched me.

That is the reason I do this.

Jewellery is lovely, but jewellery with meaning, memories, and a story behind it is something completely different. Knowing that something I’ve made has brought comfort, happiness, and connection to people means more to me than I can ever explain. ✨

This beautiful pendant has gone off to its new home today, where it will be given as a very special 60th birthday gift💐🥂🍾

It always feels such an honour to know that one of my handmade pieces is being chosen as a meaningful present for someone special.

This pendant features a stunning translucent marble with a soft blue tinge and a beautiful dark swirl captured inside it, making every angle look slightly different in the light. It’s such an unusual piece and even more beautiful in person.

The marble has been encased in sterling silver and comes complete with a sterling silver chain, creating an elegant and timeless finish. ✨

Really excited to have found this beautiful piece today whilst out treasure hunting ✨

The moment I saw it, I could already picture the finished design — set in a sterling silver frame and paired with a sterling silver paperclip-style chain. I think it’s going to make such a stunning statement piece.

Now comes the exciting part… bringing the vision to life and hopefully doing this gorgeous gem the justice it deserves 💛

I am absolutely loving creating these small marble cluster pendants at the moment ✨

This one features two soft pink marbles paired with a clear translucent marble, all beautifully set in a sterling silver casing and held together with sterling silver rings and chain.

There’s something I really love about the balance of these cluster designs — delicate, a little playful, and full of light 🌸

I’m looking forward to making more of these in different colour combinations and adding them to my stock collection soon 💫

This week I headed over to Cleethorpes and spent some time in one of my favourite workshops — the place where my love for working with silver really began.

I had a session there with Julie, and it’s always so valuable to go back, learn new techniques, and give myself the space to experiment with new ideas and bounce them around with Julie. Every visit builds my confidence a little more and reminds me why I enjoy this craft so much.

I’ve been quietly working on a special piece for someone at home snd with the help of Julie (which I can’t share just yet 👀), and like many creative processes, it’s taken a few restarts along the way — but that’s all part of it.

Grateful to keep learning, refining, and growing with every visit ✨
